Marjorie Sturgeon Is Recent Bride Os Harry D. Vandrqa St. Mark's Lutheran church at Monroeville was the scene of the recent marriage of Miss Marjorie Arlene Sturgeon, to Harry D. Vondran. The Rev. Clifford L. Schreck performed the double ring ceremony, Saturday, December 22, at 8 p.m. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. F. E. Sturgeon and Louis Vondran, all of Glenford, O- * A program of wedding music was presented by Mrs. Ethel Krick, organist, and Miss Virginia Bowers, soloist. The bride’s floor length gown was fashioned of chantilly lace and nylon tulle over satin. The V neckline of her gown was appliqued in lace and edged with seed pearls and irridescents. Long lace sleeves came to points over her hands, and lace fell in points around the very bouffant skirt of nylon tulle. A half hat of matching lace and tulle, studded with pearls and irridescents, held her flng c veil in place. Her bridal bouquet consisted of a white orchid and

Sprunger will be hostess for the Music department meeting. "A Tour of Early Keyboard Instruments” is the theme of the njgeting, with the program to be presented by Mrs. J. Fred Fruchte. Co-hoatesses for the meeting are Mrs. James B. Kitchen, Mrs. Harold Murphy, and Miss Alice Roth. “The Early American Theater” will be discussed at the meeting of the Dramatic section, which is to meet at the home of Mrs. Arthur Burris. Mr. and Mrs. Frederic Schafer, of Decatur and Fort Wayne, will leave from New Orleans, La. Saturday on the steamship Alcoa Corsair for a 16-day Caribbean cruise. The itinerary includes Jamaico, Curacao, Trinidad and other islands, in addition to the northern coast of South America. Mr. and Mrs. Bud Williamson and family of Lincoln, Neb., left this morning after spending several days with, friends and relatives in Decatur and Fort Wayne. Mrs. Lores Lehman has returned to her home from the Lutheran hospital in Fort Wayne. It is reported that shg is doing nicely, but must remain in bed part time for the next few weeks. Mrs. Wayne Clouse and Gary Dean Clouse returned home Sunday after spending the Christmas holidays with Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Clouse, Jr., of Miami, Fla. Mr. and Mrs. Robert C. Nelson and four-month-old son Rickey, of Orlando, Fla., are visiting their parents, Mrs. Kathryne Nelson and Mr. and Mrs. Norman Kruse. Airman 1/c Nelson is on a 30-day leave from Pinecastle Air Force Base, where he is presently stationed. Lt. and Mrs. Thomas Clay and Linda and Tommy, of Toms River, N. Miss Marlene Darling of Portland, Ore., was a house guest at the G. J. Kohne residence over the New Year's holidays. She and Miss Dorothy Kohne returned to Portland Tuesday, where they are both elementary school teachers. . Mr. and Mrs. Eugene AeSchliman and children have returned to their home in Cincinnati, after spending the holidays with Mrs. Aeschliman’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Niblick, and other relatives living in Berne. Other relatives in the Niblick home during the past week were Anne Kenny of Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. L. D. Clark of Dayton, 0., Mr. and Mrs. John Winans of Ada, 0., Mr. and Mrs. Ed Winans, and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Miller and sons, all of Fort Wayne.
Robert Ehler, plant superintendent of the Bluffton Pretzelbitz factory, and brother of J.’ L. Ehler of Decatur, underwent surgery Saturday at St. Vincent hospital in Indianapolis. He is reported making a favorable recovery. His health has not been good for the past two months. Donald A. Menter, 17, of Preble, was fined a total of $19.75 in Bluffton city court Saturday an a charge of excessive an auto. Van Wert county fair officials have renamed Edvferd Williams of York township president of the Van Wert county agricultural association. All other officials were also reelected. The directors reported 160,000 attended the fair last fall, with 140,000 paid admissions. The paid attendance figure was 5,000 less than in 1955. Mayor and Mrs. Forrest Balsiger of Berne will leave Los Angeles today after spending New Year’s day in Pasadena. They attended the tournament* of roses and the Rose Bowl football game as guests of the Oldsmobile company. Balsiger is one of 100 Oldsmobile dealers so honored this year'

91 Veteran Cases Handled Last Year Service Officer Os DAV Makes Report A total of 91 veteran’s cases were handled during 1966, with $4,289.20 being awarded claimants, by the local chapter of the Disabled American Veterans, Gerald M. Smitley, service officer of the chapter, stated today. Tert service-connected claims Were filed during the year, and six were awarded, with tour still pending. Six non-service claims were filed, and pensions were awarded in four of them. Hospitalization was granted in 12 of 14 cases. Correspondence on veteran’s - - claims amounted to 52 letters written by the service officer, and 103 letters received. Korean bonus claims were filed for 52 persons. One widow pension claim was filed, and it is still pending, Smitley reported. Power of attorney was granted to chapter 91 by 16 persons to handle their veteran affairs.
