Two other motorists appeared in J. P. court on traffic charges Friday. Larry Smith of Decatur, arrested Nov. 28 on a charge of driving a vehicle with improper lighting, was fined $1 and costs. Max E. Richard Lee Bauman, 19, of Pleasant Mills, stopped for the traffic light. Immediately behind him, Glenn F. Reynolds, 38, of Hoagland also stopped but Edmond W. L. Thieme, 24, of Decatur route five, was unable to stop and hit the rear of the Reynolds car, pushing it into the Bauman vehicle. Here's a recipe for braised short riba ot | beef, together with vegetable tor Sunday Dinner recommended b> the A & P Service lor Hbmemakers This recipe calls for 6 portions of short ribs which is approximate ly 4 pounds. The ribs should be dredged in flour mixed with 2 tea spoons salt and dash of pepper Brown all sides in hot tat. Place ip a kettle or dutch oven and add J cup boiling water, 1 cup cooked oi canned tomatoes and 1 clove garlic The meat ahduld then be covered and cooked at a simmef tor about ohe and one-half hours. Then add six medium potatoes, a dozen small onions and six medium carrots and cook an additional 45 minutes, or until the meat and veget*ble%->re meat and vegetables on platter. A gravy' that goes well can be made by add ing m tablespoons flour and cup water for each cup of liquid from the cooking pan. Heat until flour is thoroughly dissolved. Serve in gravy boat. An easily-prepared salad to serve with a braised short-rib dinner can be added to the menu by slicing three large, unpeeled tomatoes, 1 peeled cucumber, 1 medium green pepper. Arrange in colorful serving howl and sprinkle with salt,, pepper and a little sugar if desired. The salad should be dressed with a small amount, of tarragon vinegai to taste. .*■ Such a meal can be completed ■with an appropriate dessert ai,id the favorite beverage of each indi „ vidual.
