MISS ANN EHINGER TO WED JAMES SEIGEL DECEMBER 29 The engagement and approaching marriage of Miss Ann Catherine Ehinger, of 117 West Packard avenue in , Fort Wayne, to James Leßoy Seigel, df 4026 Smith street in Fort Wayne, has been announced by the bride-elect s ,mpther, Mrs. Jewel Ehinger, of $9 Line street. Mr. and Mrs. Herman Seigel, of Auburn, are the parents of the bridegroom-elect. St. Mary’s Catholic church in Decatur will be the scene of the wedding, which will be solemnized Saturday morning, December 29, at 10 o’clock. The Rev. Vincent Ehinger, uncle of the bride-elect, will officiate. A graduate of Decatur Catholic high school and International Business college, Miss Ehinger is employed by the Central Soya Company Inc. Her fiance is a graduate of Auburn high school; International Business college, and is associated with Goral Motor Sales.

MERRY CHRISTMAS RECENT MEETING The Merry Matrons home demonstration club met recently at the home of Mrs. Walter Thieme. The meeting was opened by the president, Mrs. Ed. Gerbers, by having the group repeat the club collect. The history of the song of the month, “O Little Town of Bethlehem” was given by Mrs. Oelmer Thieme, who then led in the singing of the song. Mrs. Art Krueckeberg led in devotions, and roll call was answered by giving a favorite winter menu. The business session was closed with the members reciting the club prayer. Cheer sisters were revealed during the social hour and gift exchange, and cheer sisters for the coming year were chosen. Mrs. Thieme served refreshments to 17 members, and one guest and one child. Mrs. Art Krueckeberg assisted the hostess, and Mrs. Edwin Krueckeberg was welcomed into the club as a new member. LADIES SHAKESPEARE CLUB MEETS WITH MRS. JESS RICE The December meeting of the Ladies Shakespeare club was held Wednesday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Jess Rice. After the club collect was repeated, a short business session was conducted by the president, Miss Bertha Heller. “Even Unto Bethlehem,” was the Christmas story that was beautifully interpreted by Mrs. Qiarles Teeple. JigMK Van Dyke author of this famous Christmas story. During the social hour, delicious refreshments were served by the hostesses.

MRS. YODER ENTERTAINS FOR DECATUR GARDEN CLUB Mrs. Amos Y&der was hostess Tuesday evening for the Christmas meeting and party of the Decatur Garden club. The meeting was called to order by Mrs, Yoder, after which tne club collect and the club verse were repeated in unison. Thirteen members answered roll call by giving a “Christmas wish.” Mrs. William Kohls had charge of the lesson, and presented an interesting talk on "trees and shrubs.” Mrs. Wesley Lehman read the Christmas story, and an article entitled “Christmas Mixture.” Christmas prayer was offered by Mrs. Yoder. • During the social hour, the hostess conducted a contest, and the prize was won by Mrs. N. A. Bixler., A gift exchange was conducted, and refreshments were served by the hostess, who was assisted by Mrs. Kohls and Mrs. Lehman. DECEMBER MEETING HELD BY JOLLY HOUSEWIVES. CLUB The Jolly Housewives home demonstration club of St. Mary’s township had their December meeting Wednesday, with a pot luck dinner at the Youth and Community center. Following the dinner, thfe regular meeting was opened with the repeating of the club creed. Mrs. Harry Marti gave devotions, after which the group repeated the Lord’s prayer. Discussion of new business was held, and the singing of the friendship song ended this session. A Christmas reading was presented by Hattie Worthman. Academy pals for 1957 were drawn, gifts were exchanged, and old academy pals were revealed. “Crazy bunco” was played and prizes were awarded to the winners. Hostesses for the evening were Nancy Lengerich, Allie Noll, Loretta McCullough, Lurlene Knox, and Melvena Reed. PROFIT AND PLEASURE CLUB HAS POTLUCK SUPPER The Profit and Pleasure hbme demonstration club recently held their annual pot-luck Christmas supper with Mrs. Henry Heimah as hostess.
