Purchase Roller For Highway Department The contract for the purchase of a roller for the county highway department was awarded by county commissioners Monday to Indiana Equipment company. The bids were submitted at the regular meeting of the commissioners, who also allowed the county claims during the session. Other bids were submitted by Deed Equipment company, Corte Broth- 1 ers company and Flesch Miller company.
Christmas Services At Lutheran Church Special Services Will Open Thursday A carol and candlelighting vesper Thursday evening at 7 o’clock will open the series of special Christmas services to be conducted this year by Zion Lutheran church, West Monroe and Eleventh streets. The church choir and two children's groups will sing special music and the congregation asSembled will be given opportunity to sing the beautiful Christmas carols. The lighting of candles by the worshipers in a darkened church, and the singing of Silent Night, Holy Night by candle light, is feature of this Christmas service. The public is invited to attend. "The Brightness of Christmas" will be the sermon theme at this service by the pastor, the Rev. Edgar P. Schmidt. t Additional Christmas services at Zion Lutheran church are as follows: Sunday, December 23, at 8 and 10:30, the fourth Sunday in advent. “The Great Treasure of Christmas.” Sunday afternoon, at 4 o’clock, the children of the Sunday school, grades 3 through 8, will conduct
their Christmas service, entitled "From Heav'n Above." The children of nusery and primary departments of the Sunday school will have their service Monday evening, Christmas Eve, at 7 o’clock. King, Queen Are Crowned Saturday At Adams Central Miss Carol Kaehr and Ron Corson were croyirel queen and king of the Adkms Central Centralis for 1957 in a halftime ceremony Saturday evening |t the Berne-Adams Central game at Adams Central. Don Gerig, music supervisor, was in charge of the ceremony. The king and queen were chosen by vote of the student body. Centralis is the Adams Central yearbook.
