Buys Health Bond Help Fight TB Buy Christmas Seal* VFW Ladies auxiliary has voted purchase of a $5 health band, officials of the Christmas seal sale campaign in Adams county announced today. All proceeds from the annual Christmas seal sale are used in the fight on tuberculosis and to provide free clinics and otherwise carry on the fight against the "white plague." The sale is conducted by the Adams county tuberculosis association. George F. Laurent, personnel director for the Decatur General Electric plant, left Wednesday evening for New York City, where he will attend a three-day employe communications workshop for editors of the newspapers of G. E. plants throughout the country. He will return Sunday. Junior Choir Will Practice Saturday A practice for members of the junior choir of the First Methodist church will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at die church. AD youngsters between the first and sixth grades are invited to participate in the choir. Saturday's practice will be for the annual Christmas program.

Senior Girl Scouts Report Activities Friendship Theme Os Recent Meeting "International Friendship" was the theme of the program for the senior Girl Scouts of Decatur recently at the Decatur Youth and Community Center. The senior Girl Scout planning council- was in charge of the party. \ Miss Marily Jeffries, acting chairman, presented the Rev. Virgil Sexton, who showed pictures of the Holy Land. Also on the program was Mrs. Robert Krueckeberg, who described Christmas customs in Germany and presented a display of China, silverware, toys and other articles from that country. Miss Barbara Kalver and Miss Janalee Smith were in charge of the refreshment table. The meeting also featured reports on community service projects. The projects reported on were the loan systems of books tor patients at the hospital and other shut-ins, aiding the Goodfellows club in delivery of Chirstmas baskets, remembering children at the Eaton, 0., orphanage, decorating windows at the Community Center, adopting a needy family to be aided at Christmas, assisting with the Girl Scout Christmas caroling and decorating trees at the center. Future activities for the senior Scouts will be planned by the planning board which is made up of two girls from each senior Girl Scout troop. There are 50 senior Girl Scouts in Decatur this year. The Adirondack Forest Preserve is the second largest forest preserve in the United States. It is 2,174,214 acres.
