Automobile Swerves Off Road, In Dilcb California Woman Slightly Injured > Peggy Martin, 46, of HollywoodCalif., was the driver of a vehicle involved in a single car accident at 7:40 a. m. today on U. S. highway 224 just .east of Decatur. She lewt control of her car on a slipped spot and swerved into a ditch, hitting a tree. Damage was estimated at $250. The woman was taken to the hospital for observation but was not held for treatment. Deputy sheriff Charles Arnold and state trooper Dan Kwasneski investigated. Two vehicles were damaged in another accident which occurred Monday at 5:45 p. m on U. S. highway 27 about four and a half miles south of Decatur. A car driven by Lois R. Faurote, 26. of Decatur route four, started a left turn into a driveway just as a car driven by Harvey L. Smith, 33, of Monroe, started to pass. Damage was estimated at $75 to the Faurote car and SSO to the Smith vehicle. Deputy Arnold and state trooper Gene Rash investigated. State trooper Rash also reported an accident which occurred a mile west of Berne in Hartford township Sunday at 10:15 a. m. Cars driven by Muri D. Yoder, 16. of Berne route one, and Donald D. Graber, 20, of Berne route one, were involved. The Graber car was not damaged in the mishap and damage to thfe Yoder vehicle was estimated at S2OO. Four Are Fined For Traffic Violations Walter Kuntz. 28, of Fort Wayne, arrested for speeding on Mercer avenue, appeared in justice of the peace Floyd Hunter’s court Monday and was fined $1 and costs. Also in J. P. court Monday was Donnie Lee Drake, 20, of Decatur route five, who was arrested for reckless driving on Monroe street. He was fined $5 and costs. Ward Bowman of Decatur, charged with failure to yield the right of way, and Richard W. Gordon, also of Decatur, charged with passing at an intersection, were each fined $1 and costs in J. P. court. They were arrested following an accident Saturday. Albert Custard, 27, of Fort Wayne, was arrested on U. S. highway 27 near Berne for disregarding a stop sign. He is scheduled to appear in Berne J. P. court Dec. 31. Leland Bienz, 17, of Decatur route five, arrested on 13th street for an improper display of emergency lights, will be in Decatur J. P» court Wednesday.
