1 CHRISTMAS PROGRAM TO BE |j PRESENTED WEDNESDAY ... The Women’s association of the j First Presbyterian church will present a Christmas program at the church, Wednesday evening at 8 M o'clock. Mrs. James Richer, Jr., will direct the worship service. Taking •art in the program, which is caljed»“'Qie Whole Church,” will be Mrs. Kocher, Mrs. Richards Schauss, Jean Smith, Mrs. Roger Blackburn, and Tepa Blackburn. Installation of the officers for 1957 will be conducted by Mrs. Lowell Harper, and members are reminded to bring gifts for Hillcrest Neighborhood House. Following the program, refreshments will be served in the church parlor. CARRY-IN DINNER HELD AT N. C. LENHART HOME A carry-in dinner was held at the home of Norman G. Lenhart Saturday evening, in observance of the birthday anniversaries of Mrs. Clara Ball of Peterson, and N. G. Lenhart. Those attending the pinner and social evening were Mrs. Minos Sharp and children of St. Mary's, O. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Bowman and ohildren,»and Mrs. Charles A. Bowman of Bluffton; Mr. and Mrs. O. M. MISS HELEN IIAVBOLD TO DIRECT CHRISTMAS PROGRAM Miss Helen Haubold, music director of the Decatur public schools, will direct Jhe annual P.T. A. Christmas program, to be held at the Lincoln grade "school, Thursday evening at 7:30 o’clock. Forty-two voices have been > selected from the seventh grade music classes, and these students will present their version of ’’Sing For Christmas.” This group will be assisted by several instrumental players, who include Rita Norquest, Margaret Kocher, Martha McGeath, Polly Bonifas, and Tom Baxter. This will be a regular meeting of the school’s parent-teachers association, and the parents are invited to bring their children to this special holiday program. Refreshments will be served by the committee in chrage. CHRISTMAS PROGRAM GIVEN AT UNION CHAPEL The W.S.W.S. of the Union Chapel church held annual Christmas program at the church recently'. ter which the group song Christmas carols, k , Scripture was read by Miss Betty Miller, and Mrs. Parker was narrator for the program which followed. The program consisted of eight different scenes of Christmas windows in different lands. Taking part in the presentation were -children from the primary, intermediates, the young peoples class, and three adults. “Take My Life and Let it Be” was sung by the audience, followed by offering. After Mrs. Robert Folk gave benediction, a short business meeting was held. The committee, consisting of Mrs. Thurman Drew, Mrs. Robert Workinger and Mrs. Thomas Gaunt, served refreshments tp 14 W.S.W.S. members and 36 guests, from tables decorated in the holiday itfotif. BUDGET LOAN CORPORATION HAS CHRISTMAS DINNER Budget Loan Corporation entertained its employes, their families, and guests at the eighth annual Christmas dinner-party, held Saturday evening at the Durnin Hotel in Rushville. Forty-seven persons were present for the reception and dinner held in the “Countryside Room” of the hotel, including 26 employes of the corporation. Decorations were in keeping with the spirit of Christmas. Following the dinner, Joseph H. Burris, of New Castle, a vicepresident and director, presided as toastmaster. He introduced the Connersville unit of the famous nationwide singing organization, "The society for the preservation of barbershop singing.” This group, led by Carl Brock, sang a
number of old barbershop favorites and several traditional Christmas carols. The toastmaster then recalled humorous anectodes in the lives of each of the employes. Jack H. Payne, of Rushville, secretary - treasurer, presented a five year award to Miss Dorothy Lipscome of Rushville, who is assistant secretary - treasurer of the organization. In addition, Walter Redenbarger, manager at Rushville, and Charles Darnell, manager at North Manchester, were presented prizes as winners of a recent sales contest. The president of the Budget Lban Corporation, Victor H. Payne. and his wife of New Castle, were each presented with a gift from the employes. In response, Mrs. Payne gave a reminisence of the past year and a personal tribute to all employes, officers and directors. After completetion of the dinner and program at the hotel, a gift exsocial time were enjoyed at the change, group carol singing and a home of Mr. and Mrs. Jack H. Payne, in Rushville.

Attending from the local corporation were Miss Jackie James and William L. Snyder. Employes and families were also present from North Manchester, New Castle, Rushville, Greensburg, and Hartford City. The Rosary society will meet at the K. of C. home Monday evening at 7:30 o'clock, for a regular meeting. The Salem W.S.C.S. will have an all day meeting Thursday at the church. The meeting of the afternoon and evening circles of the Methodist W.S.C.S., which was scheduled for Thursday eveing, has been postponed until December 20. Mrs. W. P. Matthew B. Schulte, a graduate of Decatur Catholic high school, entered the business administration and finance school of International college in Fort Wayne, yesterday. HTHfI I Doug and Amy Lou Reynolds Thompson of 221*4 South First st., are the parents of a son, born Monday evening at 9:50 o'clock, at the Lutheran hospital in Fort Wayne. He weighed seven pounds, nine and a fourth ounces, and is the grandson of Mrs. Joseph Thompson and Mr. and Mrs. Chet Reynolds, all of Decatur. At the Adams county memorial hospital: A baby girl was born this morning at 6:05 o’clock, to Louis and Erna GaUmeyer Koenemann of route 1, Decatur. She weighed eight pounds and 11 ounces.
