Elwood whipped the Jackets last year, 70-42, at Elwood, and the Jackets are hopeful of revenge. The Decatur Commodores, who won a pair last week to bring their season record to 5-2. travel to Marion to meet Marion in a Central Indiana Catholic conference engagement. —OOo—r Also on Friday night, the undefeated Hartford Gorillas will put i HttSr*recbn!W the line against the Geneva Cardinals at Hartford; Adams Central will meet Chester Center at Montpelier; Monmouth travels to Bryant, and the Bears will host Lancaster Central at Berne, A neighborhood battle tops the two-game Saturday schedule, with the Adams Central Greyhounds and Berne Bears battling at the Adams Central gym. The Pleasant Mills Spartans play their only game of the week Saturday, entertaining Wren, O. Feature of last week’s results was the first’ victory of the season for the Monmouth Eagles after six consecutive dewfeats. The Eagles, winners of the last four, sectional championships, finally broke into the winning column with a 6260 triumph over the Pleasant Mills Spartans. The county’s two undefeated teams extended their victory skeins last week. The Hartford Gorillas racked up their seventh in a row by defeating Chester Center and the Decatur Yellow Jackets registered their fifth consecutive win by whipping the Berne Bears. Jim Steiner, of Adams Central, is the early leader in scoring for Adams county teams with a total of 132 points in seven games for an average of 18.9 points per game. Steiner is topped in averages, however, by two who have played in only six games, Pete Schug, of Berne, with 120 points for a 2fr point average, and Ivan Nevil, of Geneva, with 115 points for a 19.2 average. John Serafin Wins Lakewood Tourney LAKEWOOD, N. J. (W — John Serafin of West Pittston, Pa., picked up SI,OOO for his victory in the Lakewood Invitational Open Golf tournament Sunday.
