Drivers Arrested Following Accident Two Cars Collide At Road Intersection Cars operated toy Mary Gathering Bollinger, 28, of Monroe route one, and Roscoe Ross Miller, 65, of Geneva route two, were damaged and the drivers arrested following an accident at 9:10 a. m. today at the intersection of state road 124 and U. S. highway 27 at Coppess Corner. The Bollinger vehicle, headed east on 124, stopped and then started to cross the intersection in the path of the Miller car. The Miller vehicle swerved but hit the Bollinger car on the right side. Damage was estimated at SSO to the Bollinger car and $35 to the Miller cai. Mrs. Bollinger was charged with failure to yield the right of way and 'Miller, was charged with operating a motor vehicle without a license. Both will appear in justice of the peace court next Monday. Deputy sheriff Roger Singleton and state trooper Gene Rash investigated. Another minor property damage accident occurred Tuesday at 1:50 p. m. four and a half miles north of Decatur on U. S. highway 27. A truck operated by Billie E. Bell, 42, of Decatur route two, and a car driven by Chalmer R. Sorgen, 36, of Berne route one, wejre involved. The Sorgen car passed the Bell truck and cut in too soon, causing the collision. Damage was limited to the car and was estimated at $35. Deputy Singleton and state trooper Dan Kwasneski investigated. To Make Awards To Dairy Herd Owners Adams County Herds Win Awards Dec. 3 Awards will be presented to more than 275 outstanding Hoosier dairy herd owners during the 67th annual meeting of the Indiana state dairy association at Purdue University Monday, Dec. 3. Presented by the state dairy association and the Purdue dairy extension department, the awards are aimed at eliminating costly, low producing cows from the herd. Only members of the state dairy association are eligible for the awards. In order to be eligible for an award' an owner piust have a herd of at least 10 cows, each of which produces at least 300 pounds of butterfat each year. Gold certificates will be awarded to owners of herds in which each cow produced 400 pounds of butterfat during the last DHIA testing year. Silver certificates will be awarded for herds in which each cow produced 350 pounds of butterfat while bronze awards will be given for herds in which each cow yielded 300 pounds of butterfat content. Certificates of production will be given Arveda and Larry Schwartz, Berne; Robert Illingworth, Goodland; Herbert Bertram, Greensburg; Eckrote and Bullock, New Castle and Lowell Eby, Osceola. These awards are given for herds of less than 10 cows on test during the year with at least five of the cows producing 400 pounds of butterfat each. Purdue extension dairyman, G. A Williams, has announced the following citations which will be presented: Adams county: (gold awards) Eugene Caffee, Geneva; Alfred Grogg, Geneva; Martin Habegger, Monroe; Paul Liechty and Sons, Ben and Noah Mazelin, Reuben Schwartz, Franklin Steury, Rolandes Liechty and Norman Becher, all of Berne; (silver) H. C. Brenneman, Geneva; Edison Lehman, Berne; and Lehman and Yager, Geneva; (bronze) Albert Ewel, Decatur.
