Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Arnold recently returned from a vacation “ trip to Florida. While there they visited with Mr. and Mrs. Ray Doty in New Port Richy and with Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Milroy in Orlando. Mr. and Mrs. Herman Krueckeberg are spending several days in Chicago on a business trip. Among those from Decatur attending the Purdue vs. Indiana game at Lafayette Saturday, were Don Mac Lean and Marvin Stucky. , Mr. and Mrs. Ernest. Knox, Renert E. Kuhnle and Helen Hawley, of Indianapolis, spent the week-end with Mrs. Knox’s son, William J. Kuhnle and family, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Feasel and children spent the recent holiday with Mr. and Mrs. Carl Barnett of Indianapolis. Mr. and Mrs. Ira Bodie write from Los Angeles, Calif, that they are enjoying their tour of the west, and will be home soon. Miss Shirley Brandt of Decatur and Miss Barbara Burdge of Berne spent the 1 past week-end in Chicago. • Alan Cole, Purdue University student, visited with his parents, Mayor and Mrs. Robert Cole, over the past week-end. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Bohnke of Indianapolis visited with friends and relatives In Decatur over the Thanksgiving holidays. Bohnke is a senior at the Indiana University dental school, Indianapolis. Mr. and Mrs. Roger Schnepf of Husdon, Mich,, visited with Mr. and Mrs. Reid B. Erekson over the holiday. Girl Scout News Girl Scout troop 26 met at the Lincoln school Monday night. We played games and had a business meeting. We drew names for hostesses for parties for the rest of the year. We had a “telling time" when we told something interesting we did during the Thanksgiving holiday. We learned a new sohg called “Old Woman’s Courtship.” We closed the meeting with the Friendship circle. r t JANET LOUISE HAMRICK 1 HONORED ON BIRTHDAY Miss Janet Hamrick was recent- ■ ly guest of honor at a party given 1 by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Hamrick? on the occasion ' of her seventh birthday anniver- ' sary. 1 The afternoon was spent playing games and prizes were won by all. The guests were seated at a table ’ appropriately decorated for the oc- ’ casion. A large birthday cake was used as the centerpiece, and candle favors marked the places of [ the guests. Toy horns were also used at each place. Ice cream, cake and soft drinks were served by Mrs. Hamrick. Janet Louise received many nice gifts. Attending the party were Irene Hindenlang, Nancy Irwin, Tanya Garwood. Ann Sprunger, Mary Ellen and Nancy Edgell and Mabel Stetzel, all classmates of Miss Hamrick, and Cheryl and Pamela Hamrick, Mrs. Richard Hamrick, and the honored guest’s mother. , NEEDLE CLUB MEETING HELD MONDAY EVENING The Pythian Sisters Needle club met at the K. of P. home Monday evening, following the temple meeting.. Twenty-two members were in attendance. Mrs. Asa Pollack and Mrs. Moode Beavers were hostesses and served refreshments to the group. Games were played and prizes were awarded to the various winners. Mrs. Harve Baker was awarded the door prize. Election of officers was conducted with the following results: president, Mrs. Ed Ahr; vicepresident, Mrs. Frank Crist; secretary, Mrs. Delton Passwater; and treasurer, Mrs. Charles Beineke. It was decided to have the Christmas party December 10, with dinner to be served at 6 p.m. There will be a 50-cent gift exchange. Reservations must be made by December 6 with Mrs. Fasswater or Mrs. Robert Garard. DECEMBER MEETINGS TO BE HELD BY WOMAN’S CLUB The various departmental meetings of the Decatur Woman’s club will be held Monday evening, at 7:30 o'clock, unless otherwise stated. Mrs. C: _E. Bell will be hostess for the Christmas meeting of the Music department. “Current events” is the topic, and assisting hostesses will be Mrs. Richard F. Linn, Mrs. Robert K. Macklin, Mrs. Dan H. Tyndall, and Mrs. J. Fred Fruchte. The Dramatic department will meet at the home of Mrs. Herman Krueckeberg. Mrs. Paul Rancher is chairman for the Christmas philanthropic project, and the assisting committee is Mrs. Lawrence

junior choir of the Bethany E.U.B. church Wednesday afternoon at 4 o’clock. Uh Mrs. Ed Tonnelier will be hostess to the St. Ann’s study club Thursday evening at 7:30 o’clock. The Juniors of the D. A. V. will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the D.A.V. hall. An all day meeting of the Monroe W. C. T. U. will be held Thursday at the Monroe Methodist church. A carry in dinner will be served at the noon hour, and a portion of the day will be spent making favors for the trays at the hospital. The Limberlost Trail Riders will hold their regular meeting Sunday afternoon at 1 o’clock at the Boy Scout cabin at Hanna-Nuttman. There will be .a carry in dinner, and treats for the children. Election of officers will be held, and all members are urged to attend. Mrs. Paul Edwards will be hostess to a meeting of the Decatur W:. C. T. U., which will meet Friday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock. The program will be a "refresher” course, re-acquainting the group with the aims and goals of the temperance union. All white ribboners are urged to attend the meeting. l s Mrs. Thearl Stults will entertain thq Union township home demonstration club at 1:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon., Kt the Adams county memorial hospital: Paul and Ann Everett Spangler of route 5, Decatur, are the parents of a six pound, 12 ounce daughter, born Monday evening at 9:45 o’clock. At 9:55 o'clock this morning, a baby girl was born to Louis and Loretta Rauch Rumschlag of route 6, Decatur. She weighed six pounds, seven and a half ounces. »
