Ask Congress Back Water Policy Plan Policy Blueprint Approved By Ike ROCHESTER, N. Y. (IP) — Secretary of the Interior Fred A.Seaton said today the administration will ask Congress next year to enact the basic recommendations of a national water policy advisory committee set up by President Eisenhower. The policy blueprint was approved by Mr. Eisenhower last January and sent to Congress but no specific legislative program was presented. The basic recommendations of the cabinet-level committee were creation of: A water resources coordinator, a board of review to analyze the engineering and economic feasibility of water and power projects, regional water resources committees and a permanent federal inter-agency advisory committee on water resources under chairmanship of the coordinator. Seaton disclosed the administration’s plans for water resources legislation in a speech prepared for the 90th annual meeting of the National Grange. Establishment of the office of coordinator, of water resources operating directly under the President is one of the most controversial of the presidential committee's recommendations. Sen.
