Thanksgiving Rises At Lutheran Church Special Services Planned Next Week Two special services of thanksgiving will be conducted next week at Zion Lutheran church. West Monroe and Eleventh streets, it was announced today by the pastor, the Rev. Edgar P. Schmidt. A vesper will be. conducted Thanksgiving Eve, next Wednesday evening at 7:30 o’clock, and a Thanksgiving Day service Thursday morning at 9 o'clock, Rev. Schmidt will be in charge of both services and has chosen as his Thanksgiving pulpit theme, “In Everything, Give Thanks, u I Thessalonians 5. 18. Special music will be presented by the 30-voice Zion choir under the direction of Robert G. Welsh, Fort Wayne. Donald Bieberich will accompany the services and will precede each service with a concert of Thanksgiving melodies on the Carillonic bells. A special cash offering will be received from members as a gift of thanksgiving to the parish education building fund, and a clothing drive for Lutheran world relief is also being conducted in the parish until the day after Thanksgiving. Government food surplus supplies and used clothing will be shipped to Hungary, Korea, Hong Kong. Formosa, Palestine, Syria, Berlin, Trieste, and Yugoslavia. Usable clothing and closed toe shoes may be brought to the Zion parish hall basement rooms and placed in partons provided .there. The general public is invited to I attend the Lutheran services of ! Thanksgiving, Wednesday and !
