Only Minor Damage Caused By Accident Only minor damage was caused when cars driven by Thomas Gar ner, 27, of Decatur, and Carolyn M. Heiman, 16, also of Decatur collided at the corner of Fiftb street and Nuttman avenue Tues day at 12:30 p.m. The Heiman girl made a wide right turn off Fifth street and hit the Garner vehicle causing $lO damage to her car and $25 damage to the other automobile.

Yager Is Reelected State Representative L. Luther Yager, Berne Republican, was reelected to a third term as joint state representative from Adams and Wells counties Tuesday, carrying both counties. In Adams county, Yager received 6.014 votes to 4,326 for C. H. Muselman, Democrat, also of. Berne. In Wells county, Yager received 4,899 votes to 4,582 for Muselman. All other Wells county races resulted in Democratic vietdries. Results were: treasurer — Harry J. Stahl 5,627, Robert M. Hartman 3.899; recorder —Gertrude M. Shepherd 5,185, Orlin D. Taylor, 4,355; surveyor—Lewis E. Captain 5,173, Robert R. Gordon 4,334; Commissioner, first district—Joy L. He cracked the normally Democratic, South again to win Texas, Virginia and Florida, which he carried four years ago, and this time he added Louisiana. It was ip the congressional races that the Democrats made their best showing. They elected 15 to the Senate and led in 5 other races. With 31 holdover members, their indicated total was 51. Republicans won 15 seats, which gave them an indicated total of 45 when added tc their 30 holdovers. " In House races, the Democrats had elected 210 members and led in 19 contests for an indicated total of 229. The GOP elected 178 cated 206. To control, a party
and led in 28 races for an indineeds 218 seats or more. Truck Overturns East Os Decatur A truck overturned sometime last night on U. S. highway 224. just east of Decatur at a curve. Thu driver reported the accident and then left immediately because of an emergency call. The investigation being conducted by the sheriff's department will be continued until further contact with the trucking company and the driver, whose identity was not available today. The truck was carrying a load and. could not be upright until the load could be transferred to another truck. Mattress And Bed Destroyed By Fire A mattress and bed in the home of Hilda Batzell at Bobo was destroyed by fire early this morning. Decatur firemen were called to the scene of the fire at 5 a.m. In addition to the damage to the bed, there was some smoke and water damage to the house.
