Wisconsin Is Crippled For Sparfan Til! „ By UNITED PRESS Wisconsin's roster of questionable starters climbed to four today and the Badgers’ hopes of handing, mighty Michigan State a second straight setback decreased proportionately. • Standout end Dave Howard of Wisconsin was stricken with stomach flue Tuesday, joining two other top. ends on the sick list— Jim Reinke and veteran Dick Kolian. The other doubtful starter for the Badgers is Ron Carlson, sidelined with a hand injury. Michigan State tuned for the game with a brisk sessiontof rapid signal drills Tuesday Coach Duffy Daugherty experimented with several backfield combinations during the workout. Another Irish Injury . Notre Dame s injury woes also increased with junior center Ed Sullivan Joining the disabled ranks with an infected arm. Second string center Lou Concaric also is recovering from injuries so relatively inexperienced Frank Kuchta worked out at the position. Sullivan was the 24th injury incurred by key Irish players so far this season. Unbeaten lowa drilled on defense in preparation for its game against Michigan. There were no reports on progress of the team as Coach Forest Evashevski continued to practie behind closed gates. Michigan also worked out on defense in a session described as somewhat ragged. Halfback Terry Barr, injured last Saturday, ran signal drills but was held out of a scrimmage drill. Northwestern concentrated on defense with the first "full-scale scrimmage since the season began. The only major player unable to take part was halfback Bob McKeiver, who is recovering from a face injury.

IND. — The ambitious Pistons, buoyed by their 94-88 victory over Minneapolis, will give the eastern division of the National Basketball Association a firih try this week end. Brooklyn Dodgers Sell Ebbts Field NEW YORK (ffl) — Ebbets Field, home of the Brooklyn Dodgers since 1913. will be converted into a middle income housing development — but not for a few years. The Dodgers sold the ball park to real estate investor Marvin Kratter Tuesday but protected themselves by retaining an option to play at Ebbets Field through 1961 if plans for a new park fail to work out. Deer Season Opens Thursday In State ; INDIANAPOLIS (UP)—lndiana’s 1 annual deer hunting season for 1 archers opens Thursday for a 1 month-long run. The Nov. 1 through Nov. 30 season, Sundays excluded, is limited 1 to hunting in Bartholomew, Brown, Martin, Monroe, Morgan, Orange, Owen and Perry Counties, and ( that part of Greene County east ' of the west fork of White River. Hunters may get licenses for $5, only at the Indiana Department of Conservation offices in : Indianapolis. Only Indiana residents may be licensed, and only those who also have a regular hunting-fishing license. Hunting is banped in state parks. Only bows of 40-pound pull or greater may be used, and only broad head game arrows are legal. Each archer is limited to one male deer with at least one forked antler. Barr to ordgr the boys to get “normal haircuts” or face expulsion. Barr did and was backed up by local education authorities. Driver Killed As Car Is Overturned BLOOMFIELD, Ind. <(W> — Frederick R. Mitchell, 40, Springville, was killed late Tuesday when his car went out of control and turned over on a curve in Ind. 45 eight miles south of here. Mitchell and a passenger, Dale Armstrong, 47, also of Springville, were thrown from the car. Armstrong was rushed to a Bedford hospital. i
