MISS NORMA JEAN AGLER WED TO WILLARD LANDIS Miss Norma Jean Agler and Willard E. Landis were married Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock, in the Church of God. Officiating for the double ring ceremony was the Rev. W. H. Kirkpatrick. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Guy Agler of 510 Patterson street, and Mr. and Mrs. Earl 5. Landis of route 1, Monroe. Mrs. W. H. Kirkpatrick presented the musicale. Organ selections included “I Love You Truly," *‘O Perfect Love,” and the traditional wedding marches. “Saviour Like a Shepherd Lead Us,” was used as background music throughout the ceremony. The bride was attired in a powder blue lace and taffeta gown, styled along princess lines. She carried a white Bible, topped with a white orchid, and blue satin streamers. Miss Joyce Ann Irwin, as maid of honor, wore a gown of deep rose crystallette, styled similar to the bride's. She carried an arrangement of white pompoms and pink rosebuds. John H. Speakman served as best man. For traveling south, Mrs. Landis changed into a rose knit suit, with which she wore black accessories and the orchid from her bridal bouquet. They will reside on route 6, Decatur. MISS SANDRA SUE GASE MARRIES ROBERT BUTCHER The marriage of Miss Sandra Sue Gase to Robert Eugene Butcher was solemnized Saturday evening at 6 o’clock, in the rectory of the St. Mary's Catholic church. Officiating for the double ring ceremony was the Rev. Robert Contant. Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Gase of 722 Walnut street, are the parents of the bride, and the bridegroom is the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Butcher of 1062 Russell street. Members of the immediate families and a few close friends were present for the occasion. A color scheme of pink and white was used throughout. The three-tiered wedding cake was decorated with pink roses and was topped with a miniature bride and groom. Mrs. Butcher attended Decatur Catholic high school, and her husband graduated from Decatur high school, and is employed at International Harvester Co., in Fort Wayne. The couple is residing at 222 North Fourth street. CHANGE IN COMMITTEE ANNOUNCED BY P.T.A. A change in committee members for the forthcoming P.T.A. sponsored fall festival was announced today. Mr. and Mrs. David Heller are chairmen of the bingo stand. Assisting them will be Dr. and Mrs. Arthur Girod, Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Rydell, Mr. and Mrs. John Hefner, and Herman Lankenau. The annual event, which is being sponsored jointly by the Lincoln, and newly formed Northwest P.T.A., will be held Wednesday evening, in the Decatur high school gymnasium, following the Calithumpian parade. Unit 1 of the Bethany Evangelical United Brethren church will meet Thursday evening at 7:30 o’clock, at the home of Mrs. Joe Hunter. The Everready Sunday School class of the Methodist church will meet at the church, Thursday evening at 7:30 o’clock. Mrs. Robert Burger will be hostess to the Pleasant Grbve W.M.A. Thursday afternoon at 1 o’clock. The Faithful Followers of the Union Chapel church, will meet a week from Friday instead of this Friday. An all day meeting of sewing and quilting will be observed by the Union Chapel Ladies ' Aid Thursday. All ladies of the church are invited to attend this meeting, which will be held at the church. The W.S.C.S. of ths MethOdlSt church is sponsoring rummage sales this week-end at the church. The hours Friday will be from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m., and Saturday, articles will be for sale from 9 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. Mrs. Tony Metzler will be hostess to the So Cha Rea dessert bridge, 'Hiursday evening at 7:30 o’clock. The Zion Needle club will meet at the parish hall, Thursday afternoon at 1 o’clock. Named Pastor Os Geneva Circuit The Rev. Riley B. Case, of LaGrange, a student at Garrett Biblical Institute at Evanston, 111., is the new pastor of the Geneva Methodist circuit. He succeeds the Rev. 0. P. Van Y, who resigned because of ill health. Rev. Case, graduate of Taylor University, will spend the weekends at the three churches of the circuit, Spring Hill, Union Chapel and New Corydon.

Angeline Kleine Bride Sunday Os Henry E. Lehrman The Rev. Edwin A. H. Jacob performed the Sunday evening ceremony which united in marriage Miss Angeline Kleine and Henry E. Lehman. The vows were exchanged that evening at 6 o'clock, in the St. John’s Lutheran church on the Decatur Road. The bride is the youngest daughter of Mrs. Theodore Kleine of Hoagland, and the late Theodore Kleine, and the bridegroom is the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Lehrman route 5, Decatur. Palms, beauty and altar vases of fall flowers, and branched candelabra created the background for the exchanging of the nuptial vows. The pews were decorated with lighted candles, at the base of which were white satin bows, and ferns. Preceding the ceremony, a program of bridal music, was presented by the church choir, and W. E. Uffelman, organist, and Miss Sandra Girardot. vocalist. Bride Wore Given in marriage by her uncle, William Beneke, the bride was lovely in a gown of imported chantilly lace over taffeta. Hand-clip-ped lace, embroidered with pearls, fashioned the Sabrina neckline of the long sleeved bodice, which featured an Empire corselet of pleated taffeta. The voluminous skirt swept into circular chapel length train. Her fingertip veil of imported illusion was caught to a lace over taffeta pillbox, designed with circlets of irredescent sequins. She carried a white Bible, topped with a white orchid, surrounded by Stephenotis and fleur-de-meur. Miss Marjorie Melcher attended as maid-of-honor. I At the Adams county memorial hospital: A baby girl was born Saturday at 5:50 p.m. to Elmer and Marcella Hoffman Kukelhan of route 3. She weighed seven pounds and 11 ounces. Sunday morning at 6:32 o’clock an eight pound, 10 ounce son was born to Lee and Verla Patten Derickson of Berne. Robert and Sherian Drake Zeser of 521 Penn street are the parents of a baby girl, bom Sunday afternoon at 4:40 o’clock, weighing six pounds, eight and a half ounces. A seven pound, 15 ounce daughter was born this morning at 4:38 o’clock to Amos and Sarah Schwartz Eicher of Berne. Billy and Betty M. The deeper tones fashioned the softly draped V necked Empire bodice, and the back panel was highlighted with a bustle bow. Matching headbands, with brow veils completed their ensembles, and they carried crescent bouquets of roses. Flowers girls were Miss Debra Ann Shroeder, niece of the bride, and Kathleen Lake, niece of the bridegroom. Serving the bridegroom as best man, was his brother Robert Lehrman. Quests were seated by Carl Lehrman and Bill Winans, cousins of the bridegroom, and Edward Beneke, cousin of the bride. The bride's mother wore a black sheath dress with mauve accessories while the bridegroom’s mother was attired in a black dress with winter white accessories. Both had orchid corsages. Reception Approximately 375 guests attended the wedding reception, which was held at Lutz barn, immediately following the ceremony. Servers included Miss Mary Kathryn Neireiter, Miss Doris Grotian, Miss Pat Zehr, Miss Rita Scheumann, Miss Annette Bradtmueller, the Misses Joella and Noella Lehrman, cousins of the bridegroom, Miss Betty Morton, cousin of the bride, and Mrs. Gary Cranes. When the couple left for a southern wedding trip, Mrs. Lehrmart was wearing a cocoa brown, Italian silk suit, with dark brown accessories, and the orchid from her bridal bouquet. Upon their return, they will reside in Hoagland. A graduate of Hoagland high school, Mrs. Lehrman is employed in the office of the Vim Sporting Goods Co. Inc., in Fort Wayne. Her husband is a graduate of Decatur high school, and is employed at International Harvester in Fort Wayne.

Fall Rally Is Held By Lutheran Groups Preble Church Host For Rally Sunday The fall rally of the Lutheran women’s missionary league and the Lutheran laymen's league was held Sunday evening at St. Paul’s Lutheran church at Preble. The Rev. Walter M. Schoedel of Emmanuel Lutheran church at Ft. Wayne spoke on personal evangelism. The Rev. Otto Busse, host pastor, led the opening and closing devotions. Rev. Schoedel stressed the need for personal evangelism and urged his hearers to start at once whatever their station in life. t William Selking of Preble presided at the Lutheran laymen's league meeting. The zone enrolled 1195 members during the 1955-56 membership campaign. Reports of the recent Northern Indiana district convention at Lafayette were given. Al Buuck, chairman of the athletic committee, reported that Soest had won the softball championship, and that the basketball season had opened Saturday evening. John Bleke and D. H. Callow reported on the Lutheran Hour. The Lutheran Hour budget for next season has again been increased. Foreign broadcasting is becoming increasingly important. A scholarship for a student from the Decatur zone is to be established at Valparaiso University for next year. Prospective students are to take the national L. L. L. examinations in January to be eligible for the local award. Herman Bleeke, zone seminar chairman, announced that Professor H. J. Boujnan of Concordia Seminary at St. Louis will discuss "Problems concerning Lutheran Union” at the zone’s fall seminar to be held at Immanuel Lutheran church in Union township Sunday evening, November 11, at 7:30 o’clock. Friends, Neiahbors Pick 28 Acres Os .. Corn For Singleton Friends and neighbors of Everett Singleton, of Decatur route 2, came to his aid Saturday and nicked 28 acres of corn on his farm near the Mt. Pleasant church. Singletin lost the little finger and ring finger on his left hand in a corn picker last Wednesday and is still confined to the hospital. Chauncey Sheets and Alton Bittner furnished and operated the corn pickers. Other men who furnished tractors and wagons and assisted in picking the 28 acres were Leo King, Sr., Frank Singleton, Brice Sheets, Robert Teepie, Roger Singleton, Ed Ritter, Clarence Macke, Jim and Ray McDougall, Kenneth Singleton, Norman Sheets, Rex King and John Fuhrman.
