MR. AND MRS. CHARLES McCULLOUGH were married in a dou-ble-ring ceremony, performed Friday evening, October 12, at 8 o’clock. The Rev. Benjamin Thomas officiated for the ceremony, which took place at the Bethany Evangelical United Brethren church. The former Miss Ruby Kathryn Combs, the bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ballard Combs, of London. Ky. The bridegroom is the oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Ben McCullough of route 6, Decatur. Mrs. McCullough is employed at the General Electric Co. in Decatur, and her hus.band is employed at International Harvester in Fort Wayne. He is a graduate of Pleasant Mills high school. The purse was left at the Salvation Army store by a Decatur woman and was given to the Mexican woman by mistake. It is a large black pouch type with a shoulder strap and contains medication which could be dangerous if taken, without the supervision of a physician. The Mexican woman was driving a late model black car and had a small child with her. If any person knows who has possession of the purse now, they' are asked to contact the police department immediately.
MISS BONDRA ELf-EN MAY WEDS JACK LEE CHILCOTE Miss Sondra Etlen May became the bride of JaciT-fie Chilcote, in an impressive candlelight ceremony performed Friday evening at 7:30 o’clock in the Church of God. Officiating for the double-ring ceremony was the Rev. W. H. Kirkpatrick. The bride is the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Verl Snyder, of 516 Patterson street, and the bridegroom is the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Chilcote of 372 Stevenson street. Palms and branched candelabra holding lighted tapers adorned the chancel of the church. A brief musicale was presented by Pauline Ro o £ Selections included “Always,” “Pearls Os Life,” and the traditional wedding marches. Miss Carol Sue Seitz, as vocalist, sang “Because," and “The Lord's Prayer.” . Given in marriage by ber.ffather, the bride wore a blue ballerina length gown of lace over taffeta, trimmed with taffeta. Her shoulder length veil of imported lace was caught to a crown cap, and she carried a white Bible, topped with an orchid. Mrs. Bdnny Oladle, sister of the bride, was matron-of-honor, and best man was William Ostermeyer. Guests were seated by BiUy Roth and Daniel Cowans. Mrs. Snyder attended the wedding in a black crepe dress with black accessories, and she wore a corsage of red roses. The bridegroom's mother was attired in a brown crepe dress with brown accessories. Her corsage was of y'ellow’ roses. The Decatur Youth and Community Center was the scene of the wedding reception. vAfich was "held immediately following the ceremony. Approximately 150 guests were served by Miss Sharon Kreischer, Miss Sue Spencer, Miss Diane Spencer, Miss Sue Dietch, Miss Rita Fahancke, and Mrs. William Ostermeyer. For traveling, the new Mrs. Chilcote changed into a rose colored suit, with which she wore black accessories. She completed her ensemble with the orchid from her bridal bouquet Upon their return, Mr. and Mrs. Chilcote will reside at 503% North Fifth street, in Decatur. The bride is a graduate of Decatur high school, and has been emyloyed at Win Rae Drive-In. Her husband attended Decatur high school, and Is employed by Phelps Dodge Corporation in Fort Wayne. MRS. CARL FREY HOSTESS TO W.S.C.S. ON THURSDAY The Pleasant Mills W.S.C.S. met Thursday aftrenoon at the home of Mrs. Carl Frey. The meeting was opened by Mrs. Edith Bailey, w’ho gave the devotions, and presented "the lesson of “Volcanoes” in southeast Asia. Prayer was offered by Mrs. Elmer Golliff. Duringthebuslhess meeting, plans were made for a Thanksgiving supper to be held November 20 at the church. Refreshments were served by Mrs. Fvey and Mrs. Edith Dailey. Eastern star. Masonic hall, 7:30 p.m. Mrs. Elmo Lengerich will entertain the members .of the Ruralistle study club, Thursday evening at 8 o’clock. Delta I-ambda and Xi Alpha Xi chapters of Beta Sigma Phi, will meet Tuesday evening at 8 o'clock at the home of Mrs. William Affolder. One Driver Dies As Big Trucks Collide -MICHIGAN CITY. Ind. (UP)— Truck driver Carey Clair, 44, of suburban Detroit, was killed late Friday when two semi-trailers collided on U.S. 20 southwest of here. Authorities said his semislimmed into the rear of a big truck operated by Elbert Cooper. 33, Dearborn, Mich. Cooper was unhurt. Clair apparently did not realize Cooper was stopping at a Monon Railroad crossing for a switch engine. Both drove for the same Chicago trucking line and were friends. Fire Extinguisher Purchasers Thanked The teen council today expressed its thanks to all persons participating in the recent sale of fire extinguishers. There is still a limited supply of these small portable extinguishers available, and interested parties may call the Youth Center. 3-2502, and someone will deliver one to them. The small spray type extinguishers are priced at $2, and for the past week have been sold as a money making project by the teen council of the Youth Center. Hearing Oct. 30 On Fire Appropriation The public hearing on the emergency appropriation in the fire department of the city of Decatur will be held Oct. 30 at 10 a. m. (C.D.T.) in the auditor’s office of the court house, according to word received here by county auditor Frank Kitson.

Two Youths Inqured In Accident Friday Two Adams county boys were taken to the Caylor clinic at Bhifton following an accident on state highway 118 west of Berne at about 5:25 p.m. Friday. 'Richard Kipfer, 16. of French township, sustained a fracture to his right shoulder and a fractured jaw. Donald Isch, 16, also of French township, suffer abrasions and was held at the clinic for observation. Kipfer was driver of a car which went out of .control after he passed a truck and a car traveling in the same direction. When Kipfer cut back into the lane of travel too quickly, the car skidded off onto the right berm, hit a utility pole, spun around and overturned. Is ch was a passenger in the car, which was totally demolished. Deputy sheriff Roger Singleton and state trooper Dan Kwasneski, who investigated the accident, arrested Kipfer on a charge of speeding. In the special service, emphasis was placed on the half hour of prayer first, "for those of the community who do not know God, second, for those who are indifferent toward God and third, that every Christian in Decatur might find a spiritual renewal." Today’s meeting was held in keeping with those throughout the churches ot the city this week and it is the first of the ones to be held in the Methodist chapel each night during the week preceding the nightly services.
