said, clrtsrul circuit systems now are in operation in about 70 U. S. colleges and military schools. Green said closed circuit TV could help solve the nationwide shortage of teachers and classrooms. “But if it is used solely with this in mind It will become just another gadget,” he said, “It should be used primarily as a means of improving the quality of teaching." In typing, it is useful In teaching the “home." position and proper Angering of the keys, techniques which previously could be taught only to individuals or at best to small groups. In the speech class, the student delivers his talk before the camera in the presence of a small group, to give him the reactions of audience. The rest of the class and the Instructor watch on a closed circuit TV screen Im another room. This technique enables the instructor to criticize the student’s delivery without interrupting the speaker. Green said closed circuit TV also has proved itself in science courses, where some laboratory experiments previously could be demonstrated to only a few students at a time.
