Girl Is Injured In Auto-Truck Wreck Vehicles Collide South Os Preble Billie Ann Gordon, 15. of 130 So I Fifth street, sustained lacerations on her face In an auto truck collision Tuesday at 6:35 p.m. about one fourth of a mile south of Preble. She was a passenger In a car driven 4»y Daniel Costello, 17, of Decatur, who attempted to pass a I truck whioh was in the process of j making a left turn into a driveway. The truck was operated by Gustav Koenemann of Decatur route two. Damage was estimated at SSO the truck and about $250 to the ear. The Gorden #irl was treated lat the Adarifs county memorial hospital. The accident was investigated by members of the Adams county sheriff's department and the state police. Another accident occurred just a few minutes later in Magley at the intersection of a county road and_lL S. highway 224. Cars driven by Otto F. Hildebrand, 74, of Decatur route two. and Donnie G. i Blankenbaker, 10, of Decatur, collided. , Hildebrand was crossing the highway and failed to see the approaching Blankenbaker car. which was going west of 224. Damage from the resulting impact was estimated at $350 to the Hildebrand car and S3OO to the Blankenbaker vehicle. Sheriff Merle Affolder and state trooper Dick Meyers of Wells county investigated. Monmouth Winner Os Cross Country Meet . Monmouth whipped Huntington Catholic and Geneva in a triangular cross country meet Tuesday afternoon at the Geneva course. Monmouth took first place With 19 points, Huntington Catholic was second with 42 and Geneva third with 85. Bob Hildebrand of Monmouth won the meet in 10:03. (UP) — The body of Baltimore Orioles beasball player Tom Gastail, which was recovered from Chesapeake Bay Tuesday almost six days after the crash of his light plane, was to be sent today to his home in Fall River, Mass. Gastall’a body wag discovered floating slightly off shore Tuesday near Riviera Beach, Md., by a local resident.and was identified a short time later by Paul Welsh, publicity director for the Orioles. (UP) — Mrs. Babe Didrikson Zaharias, the famed woman athlete, has been placed on the critical list and ifer physicians fear the end may be very near. Her husband.
