ROBERT COLTER IS HOSTESS TO SORORITY Mrs. Robert Colter was hostess to the Delta Theta Tan sorority Tuesday evening. Mrs. Carl Lose was assisting hostess. The meeting was called to order by the president, Mrs. H. R. Frey. During the meeting, Mrs. Frey gave an interesting report on the national convention which she attended in July, at French Lick Springs. Following the business meeting, refreshments were served by the hostesses, A baby shower was then given for Mrs. Medford Smith. Prizes for the evening’s entertainment were presented to Mrs. Lyle ‘Mallonee and Mrs. Medford Smith. EMMA BAUMGARTNER CELEBRATES 80TH BIRTHDAY Mrs. Emma Baumgartner was pleasantly surprised Wednesday evening on the occasion of her B(rth birthday. A large 30-pieces cake, individually decorated with a large “80th" and a rose, was served, with ice cream and coffee. Those present included her five children, five grandchildren, and 11 great granchlldren, who are Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ponsot. Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Yost. Mr. and Mrs. Cal Yost. Mrs. Ted White, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Brooks, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Bixler and Matthew and Sarah, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Yost and daughters Gretchen, Becky, Amy and Lisa. AMERICAN LEGION HOLDS INSTALLATION OF OFFICERS A pot luck supper preceded the installation services of the American Legion auxiliary, which were held recently at the Legion home. CELEBRATES BIRTHDAY WITH DINNER RECENTLY Mrs. Sarah (Pet) Rancey. recently celebrated her 80th birthday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Anna A. Jackson of Royal Center. Mrs. Rancey, has been quite ill for some time, but was able to be up part of the day of her birthday. ENDORSES INDUSTRIAL PROJECT A resolution approving the Chamber of Comnvrce project to encourage the location of new industry in Decatur was adopted by the Decatur Business and Professiona'. Women’s club at a dinner meeting Wednesday evening at the Moose home. Members of the club agreed to endorse the purchase of the Scheimann property as an industrial site and decided to support the financial drive individually. The resolution came during the business session, which also featured the initiation of seven new members. The new members are Mrs. Harry James, Mrs. Russell Owens, Mrs. A. A. Luyben, Mrs. Jack Rosenberger, Mrs. J. R. Welch, Mrs. Hubert Feasel and Mrs. Bernon Webster. Mrs. Webster was unable to be present but was initiated by proxy. Following the business session was the program with Miss Glennys Roop, finance committee chairman, in charge. She presented a travelogue, illustrated with colored slides, of her trip through the west this summer. Mrs. Evelyn Kingsley assisted on the committee for the September meeting. ams county group of the Ft. Wayne district W.S.C.B.| Thia will be an all day meeting next Wednesday at the Geneva church. Mrs. Francle Gutman, vice-presi-dent of the district, will preside at the morning session, which opens at 9 o’clock with a worship service. Departmental clinics will be held for the 14 officers of the 11 locals societies which comprise the Adams county group. The highlight of" the afternoon session will be the message brought by Miss Mary K. Russell, a native of Elkhart. Miss Russel has served in the mission fields of China and Africa, and after completeing a course at the University of Michigan, she will soon return to serve again in Liberia, Arica. The Adams county chorus will meet at the Co-op building in Monroe Monday evening at 7:30 o’clock.
