MISS'NORMA CONRAD FETED \VITH BRIDAL SHOWER ■ Miss Nonna Conrad wan recently honored with a bridal shower at the home of Mrs. Gene Blnhrn, with Mrs. Chester Smith and Mrs. Bob Mitchel as co-hostesses. Miss Conrad is the bride-elect of Walter Osterman. ' - Upon her arrival at the Bluhm home, the honored guest was presented with a corsage pf lavendafr pompoms. Lavendar was also the’ color that was used in decorations throughout the entertaining rooms. Games were played and prizes awarded to Mrs. Harold Barger. Mrs. Waited Conrad and Mrs. Roger Longenberger, who in turn presented them to the bride-elect. Mrs. Ralph Freels also presented the door prize to Miss Conrad. After the games were played, an apron was passed around for the guests to autograph, and this tod, was presented to Miss Conrad. The gift table was cleverly decorated with a large umbrella trimmed with lavendar crepe paper, placed amidst the gifts. After the bride-to-be opened her many gifts, refreshments were served by the hostesses. WOMEN’S GUILD OPENS' FALL SEASON WITH DINNER The Women's Guild of the Zion Evangelical and Reformed church opened the fall season recently with a carry-in-dinner in the church basement. The tables were gaily decorated with late summer flowers. The committee for, the dinner included the Mesdames Harry Houk, Robert Houk, Orville Ricks, Harold Hoffman. Milton Hoffman. James Hunter, Floyd Hunter and Fred isch. The Evangeline circle was in charge of the program for the evening. The opening prayer was offered by Mrs.- Richard Kershner, and Mrs. Eugene Morrison then presented a reading, “What the Lord’s Prayer Means to a Child” The lesson on the "Lord’s Prayer” was given by Miss Eileen Meyer, after which Mrs. William Feller presented a vocal solo. She was accompanied by Mrs. Fred Fruchte. The closing prayer was offered by Mrs. Fred Isch. Mrs. James Borders, president of the guild, conducted the business meeting. The nominating committee presented the slate of officers for 1957, which was unanimously accepted by the group. The new president is Mrs. Joseph Hazelwood, and secretary is Mrs. Robert August Mrs. Rufus Kirchhofer and Mrs. Edward Jaberg gave reports from the Summer "conference, which was held recently at Heidelberg college in Tiffin, Ohio. The meeting was closed with the Mizpah benediction. COMMUNITY ORGANIZATION AT 8080 MEETS RECENTLY The Bobo Community Organization held its monthly meeting at the school recently, with 26 members present. After a short business meeting, election of officers was held. The following were elected for the coming school year: president, Roland Miller; vice-president. Charles Wagner; secretary, Charlotte Schafer; treasurer. Richard Mailand; pianist, Dollie Sprunger; and chorister, Donald Everett. The advisory board will consist of Paul Rich, Jim Bebout and Sam Cottrell. The program chairmen for the evening were Mr. and Mrs. Austin McMichael and Mr. and Mrs. Milton Chronister. The October meeting will be in charge of Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Hilpert and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Schafer.
