MISS COLLEEN EGLY IS MARRIED IN JUNE Announcement has been made of the marriage of Mias Colleen Kay Egly, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Holman Egly, route 2, fierne, to Donald Floyd Keller, son of Mrs. Leia Ludy of route 2, Berne. The pouple was married In June, nt Alexandria, with the Rev. Dwight R. McCurdy officiating for the double ring rites, in the First ( hureh es-God tn thatefty. — —- Mrs. Dwight R. McCurdy presented the traditional wedding music, and the chancel of the church was beautified by four pair of sev-en-hranched candelabra, entwined with American Beauty roses and white satin bows. The bride was attired tn a light blue princess style dress with which she wore white accessories. She completed her ensemble with a white orchid corsage. Both Mr. and Mrs. Keller are graduates of Jefferson high school. She is employed at Winner’s Inc. in Berne, and Keller is enrolled at Huntington College, huntington. He is presently employed by the Franklin Electric Co. in Bluffton. . ' - ■ The couple will reside in Huntington. MONA LEE FAIRCHILD TO MARRY OCTOBER 13 The St. Monica's Catholic church in Santa Monica, Calif., will be the scene of the October 13 marriage of Miss Mona Lee Fairchild and John Radak. Jr., of Santa Monica. The bride-elect is the daughter of Mrs. Geraldine Fairchild, and Vernon Fairchild, both of Decatur, and her fiance is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Radak. Sr., of Johnstown. Pa. '< BPW CLUB OPEN FALL SEASON SEPTEMBER 12 The .Decatur chapter of the Business and Professional Women’s club opens its fall season Wednesday evening. September 12, Miss Glenhys Roop and Mrs. Evelyn Kingsley, chairman and co-chair-man of the finance committee, are in charge of the evening's program. A six-thirty dinner will precede the program at the Moose home. The finance committee will present a full report of their plans for 1956-1957. Afterwards, Miss Roop has planned to show her films from a trip West this summer. At the conclusion of the evening, Miss Marlene “Laurent, president of the club, will initiate the new members in a candlelight ceremony. All dinner reservations must be In to Miss Matilda Sellemeyer by Monday noon. Persons desiring to make reservations are asked to call her at 3-2187. REBEKAH TO HOLD DISTRICT MEETING The Paradise Rebekah lodge No. 83 of Bluffton will be hostess to the fall meeting of Rebekah lodges of disthict 31, composed of Adams, Wells, and Blackford counties, next Wednesday at the T. 0.0. F. hall in Bluffton. Registration will begin at 1 p.m., and the district meeting will begin promptly at 2 o'clock. All of officers and committee members are to be in formal attire. The district deputy president, Mrs. Florence M. Clark of Liberty Center, will preside at the afternoon session. Election of district officers will also be held. The school of instruction will be conducted by Mrs. Doris Stoll of East Chicago, who is vice-president of Rebekah assembly. ' °
Dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m. in the dining room at $1.50 per plate. Reservation must be in by. Saturday;, by calling the secretary of the Decatur lodge. The evening session will begin at 7 o'clock. The initiatory degree will be Conferred on a class of candidates. All members are invited to attend. The associate chapter of the local Tri Kappa sorority will have a pot luck supper Tuesday evening at 6 o'clock at the Boy'Scout shelter house in Hanna-Nuttman park. Members of Olive Rebekah lodge No. 86 will hold a regular meeting in the Odd Fellows hall Tuesda; evening at 7:30 o'clock. XI Alpha lota exemplar chapter of Beta Sigma Phi will have their first meeting of the season Wednesday evening at 8 o'clock at the Elks home. All members are requested to be present for this opening meeting. Monday evening, at 8 o’clock, the Past Presidents’ parley will meet with Mrs. Lawrence Rash. The Delta Lamda chapter of Beta Sigma Phi will meet Tuesday evening at 8 o’clock with Mrs. Jerome Keller. Mrs. Robert Colter will be hostess to the Del to Theta Tau sorority Tuesday evening at 8 o’clock. As sisting hostess for the business and social meeting will be Mrs. Carl Lose. The Sunday school of the First Methodist church will hold its annual picnic, immediately following the worship services Sunday morning, at Hanna-Nuttman park. Ice cream, cold drinks, and eoffee will be furnished. Members and friends of the church are urged to bring their families, a basket of food and their own table service. The VFW ladies auxiliary will have a 4th district meeting at Garrett Saturday evening at 7:30 o'clock. Members are reminded that there will be a school of instruction for the auxiliary secretaries. -Following the: business meeting.- there will be a dance sponsored the Garrett post. Mrs. R. B. Lano has returned to her home in Sanford. N. C., after spending several weeks with Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Niblick and other relatives. Mrs. L. D. Clark of Dayton. Ohio, and Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Aeschliman of Cincinnati, Ohio, were also guests of the Niblicks. Visits were made in Muskegon, and Kalamazoo, Mich., Toledo and Celina, Ohio, Fort Wayne, Lake Webster, and Ossian. Mr. and Mrs. Oran Schultz spent the Labor Day week-end visiting in Akron and Youngstown, Ohio. Mr. and Mrs, A. R. Ashbaucher have returned from Mackinac City, Mich., where they were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Stucky. Mrs. Arthur Holthouse left this morning for Louisville, Ky., where she will spend a week visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Dan Holthouse and family.
