Selections included “The Lord’s Prayer,” and "Wedding Prayer." The bride, given in married by her father, was attired in a ballerina length gown of tulle and lace over taffeta. The snuggly fitted lace bodice was designed with a Sabrina neckline, and the bouffant skirt featured alternating layers of lace and tulle over the crystal white satin. Her finger-tip veil of imported illusion was caught to a crown-like tlarra trimmed with tiny seed pearls. She carried a white Bible, topped with a shower bouquet of white roses. Serving her sister as maid-of-honor, was Miss Lorraine Walters, dress of nylon tulle over taffeta. She was attired in a waltz length featuring a straples bodice, with which she wore a matching stole. gown to match the maid-of-honor’a. She wore a large orchid nylon tulle picture hat and carried a bouquet of yellow gladioli. Miss Joanne Walters served her sister as flower girl in a green waltz length gown of nylon net over taffeta. She wore a half crown hat of nylon tulle and carried a French basket of snapdragons and pompoms. For her daughter's Mrs. Walters was in rlipwbtsewn dress with which site wore darker brown accessories. Mrs. Kohne selected a dark brown dress With white accessories. Both wore corsages of yellow mums. Norman Kohne attended his brother as best mail, and the guests were seated by Don Walters, brother of the bride, and Jerry Cowmans. The Zion Lutheran parish halt was the scene of the reception given for the couple from 7 until 9 o'clock that evening. The serving table was laid with a white linen tablecloth, which was centered with a three tiered wedding cake, graced on either side by greenery and candelabra. Servers include Mrs. Norman Kohne. Mrs. William Reihert Jr.. Miss Margaret Heimann Miss Carol Elzej, and Miss Gayrtel Lankenau. For traveling, the bride changed into a brown sheath dress, topped with a matching jacket. She wore brown and white accessories and a corsage of white roses. Following their two week honeymoon, the couple will reside at 309 Stratton Way, Mr. and Mrs. Kohne are both graduates of Decatur high school. He is associated with his father at Community Gas and Oil. and she is employed by the Local. Loan company in Decatur. SGT AND MRS. ELIZABETH PATSY HESS WEDS JOHN STEPHEN GASS The Rev. Robert Contant officiated for the double ring ceremony Saturday -at 7 o’clock, which united in marriage Miss Elizabeth Fahty Hew and, John Stephen.Gass. Members of the families and close friends of the coupW witnessed the ceremony, performed in the rectory of the St. Catholic fhurch. T*he bride is the daughter of Mr.. and Mrs. Clifford Hess, of 904 Line street, and the bridegroom is the only son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. R. Gass of route 5. A gown of Monaco blue was selected by the bride. Her very bouffant silk organza skirt, was styled with accordion pleating, and the delicately shirred bodice featured abreviated cap sleeves. She wore a feather ha'o hat in a matching shade of blue, and carried a colonial bouquet of lace carnations and miniature rose buds. Attending the couple were Mr. and Mrs. Richard E. Braun, Sister and brother-in-law of the bridegroom. Mrs. Braun chose a dress of salmon pink crystalette, in princess style, which featured an Italian neckline amid bouffant skirt. She carried a colonial bouquet of lace carnations. ’ The bride’s mother was attired'' in a navy silk shantung jacket sheath dress, with which she wore pink accessories. Mrs. Gass wore a blue sheer wool suit and navy accessories. Each wore a corsage of pink roses. Serving at a reception given that evening at Sunset park were Miss Carolyn Meyer. Miss Alice Kay Johnson, Miss Esther Cook. Miss Ethel Cook, and Miss Honora Braun. Approximately 250 guests were served from a table covered with a white linen table cloth. Placed in the center was a three tiered wedding cake, around which was placed crystal candelabra. When the couple left for a wedding tjip of unannounced destination, the new Mrs. Gass was wearing a beige knit suit with matching accessories and the corsage from her bridal bouquet. Mrs. Harry McDermott will be hostess to the W. S. W. S. meeting of the Calvary Evangelical church, Friday evening at 7:30 o’clock. The meeting of the Great Books discussion group regularly scheduled for Thursday evening, bas been postponed because of conflict in meeting dates. The next meeting of this group will be September 13. An all day sewing and quiliting meeting has beep scheduled for Thursday for the t’njon Chapel Ladies Aid. This is a regular meeting, and all ladies of the church are invited -to attend. Mrs. Paul Wiseman will entertaiuthe members of Our Lady of Good Counsel study club, Wednesday evening at 8 o’clock.
The Ladles Aid of the Trinity Evangelical United Brethren church will meet at the church Thursday evening at 7:30 o’clock. Hostesses for the meeting will be Mrs. Frank Bohnke, Mrs. Hubert Gilpen, Mrs. Frank Clingenpeel. The Everready Sunday School class of the Methodist church will meet Thursday evening at 7:30 o’clock in the church lounge. The Women’s Guild of the Zion Evangelical and Reformed church will have a carry-in supper at tho church Wednesday evening at 6:15 p.m. The Ladies Aid Society of the St. Paul’s Lutheran church in Preble is sponsoring an ice cream social Sunday evening at the church. Featured will be home made ice cream, cake and pie. Everyone is invited to attend. The Pythian Sisters will have their opening meeting Monday evening at 6 o’clock at the K. of P. home. Each member is asked to bring her own table service for the potluck, and sandwiches and a covered dish. Coffee will be furnished. The degree staff will meet immediately after the temple for practice. The officers of the Eagles auxiliary are to meet at the Eagles Hall tonight'at 8 o’clock. The annual picnic of the Disabled American Veterans will be held Friday evening at 6 o’clock at the Hanna-Nuttman shelter house. This will be pot luck, and everyone is asked to bring his own table service. Games will be played, atid prizes will be awarded. The auxiliary members are asked to bring articles for the silent auction. Alice Fuelling Is Wed Saturday To Eugene A. Bruick
An impressive double-ring ceremony Saturday evening united in marriage Miss Alice Marie Fuelling and Eugene A. Bruick. The Rev. F. W. Droegemueller, assisted by the Rev. Henry C. Abram, performed the rites in St. Peter’s Lutheran church at 6:30 o’clock that evening before an altar adorned With beauty vases of white mums and pompoms, palms and candelabra. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Ida H. Fuelling of route 1, Hoagland, and the late Rudolph Fuelling , and parents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Carl Bruick of route 9, Maysville Road, Fort Wayne. The pews were marked with long white candels, held in place with white satin bows, and decorated with white pompoms. The aisle was laid with the traditional white carpet. Theodore C. Grotrian was organist, and Ward Houser was vocalist. Vocal selections included “Oh Perfect Love,” “Take Thou Their Hands and Lead Them,” and “Jesus Lead Them On.” Given in marriage by her only brother, Delmore Fuelling, the bride chose a gown of Dupioni silk. Parisian shirring molded the bodice which featured short shirred sleeves and a V neckline, appliqued with Alencon medallions embroidered with sequins. Her bouffant skirt billowed to a circular chapel length train, and she carried a cascade arrangement of white roses and pink rosettes. She wore a matching scalloped pillbox. which held her fingertip veil of imported illusion. Mrs. Kenneth Niemeyer of route 7. Fort Wayne, served her sister as matron-of-honor in a gown of coral georgette taffeta, which featured a cowl neckline, short sleeves, and twin bows highlighting the long torso. A matching Velvet scrolled cap with a brow veil completed her ensemble. She carried a cascade arrangement of yellow Fuggi mums and white pom poms. . . Attending as bridesmaids were

Japan, still technically at war with Russia, just finished peace talks with the Soviet, and the Soviet refused to relinquish the Kuriles, which the Russians occupied as a result of World War n. Likewise, the U. S. occupied strategic Okinawa. Now, in accordance with the U. S.-Japan peace treaty, the U. S. has the right to keep the island base if the Russians keep the Kurile islands. Japan wants to continue peace talks.
Mrs. Robert Thompson, another sister of the bride, and Miss Joyce Ann Bruick, sister of the bridegroom. Junior bridesmaid x was Miss Cynthia Fuelling, younger sister of the bride. They were all gowned identically to that of the honor attendant, and carried cascade arrangements of white Fuggi mums and white pompoms. . Best man for the occasion was James Bruick, eldest brother of the bridegroom. Guests were seated by Kenneth Koeneman, cousin of the bridegroom, and Robert Thompson, brother-in-law of the bride. Mrs. Fuelling attended her daughter's wedding in a dress of ceil blue lace over taffeta with which she wore white accessories. The bridegroom’s mother selected a dress of rose-mauve lace over taffeta, and rose-mauve and black accessories. They both wore orchid corsages. Approximately 500 guests attended the reception which was held' at Goeglein's Kercherval reserve. The serving table was centered with a four-tiered wedding cake, topped with a miniature bride and groom. Lighted candelabra were placed on either side of the cake. Assisting with the serving of the guests were Miss Virgetffe Selking, Miss Mariann Seiking, Mrs. Doyle Scott, Mrs. Edward Stoppenhagen, Mine Kay Ann Heemsoth, Miss Verna Mae Koeneman, Mrs. Harry Benecke, and Mrs. James Hilgamin. .When the young couple left for their wedding trip of unannounced destination, the new Mrs. Bruick was wearing a black and white knit sheath dress with gold trim. She completed her ensemble with black and white accessories and the corsage from her bridal bouquet. Mrs. Bruick, a graduate of Monmouth high school, was formerly employed as a bookkeeper for the Adams county Farm Bureau Assn. Her husband was graduated from New Haven high school, and is presently employed by the Western Auto Supply Co. in New Haven. Following their honeymoon, Mr. and Mrs. Bruick will move into their new- home on route 9, Maysville (Road. Fort Wayne. Borne, Mrs. Susie Reppert, all of Decatur, and Miss Marilyn Jaberg of Fort Wayne.
