Phyllis Mattox Is Bride Saturday Os Chester D. Smith The Saturday evening marriage of Miss Phyllis Erlene Mattox and Chester Dale Smith was solmenized that evening at 6:30 o’clock in the Monroe Methodist church. Os fldating for the double ring ceremony was the 'Rev. Ralph Johnson. She is the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Mattox of Monroe, and he is the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Alonzo Smith, also of Monroe. Presenting the musicale preceding the ceremony were Mr. and Mrs. Edsal Mattox. Organ selections by Mrs. Mattox included “Oh Promise Me," “1 Love You Truly,"

“Ah, Sweet Mystery of Life," “Always,’’ and the traditional wedding march. Vocal selections by Mr. Mattox were "Because," “One Alone," and "Wedding Prayer." Given in marriage by her father, the bride appeared in a floor length gown styled of chantilly type lace and nylon tulle. The snugly fitted lace bodice featured a Queen Anne collar and her long, tapered lace sleeves ended in points over her wrists. Her very bouffant skirt was of tiille over’ satin and featured wide bands of lace falling from the waistline to the bottom of the skirt. Her fingertip veil of illusion net with chantilly lace, was caught to a crown of dainty pearls. She carried an arrangement of pink and 1 white roses. ( , Mrs. Howard Nussbaum; Sister*' of the groom, attended aa matn^j-’• of-honor in a ballerina length gown of mint green akinner satin covered with net. Her headpiece was also of mint green skinner satin, with net trimming. Her hand bouquet was of yellow mums. , Serving as junior-bridesmgid was Sharon Mattox, sister of the bride, and flower girl was Miss Linda 'Mattox, cousin of the bride. They were both attired identically to that of the honor attendant, and the flower a basket of snapdragons, Mrs. Mattox chose a powder blue, linen dress with which she wore navy accessories, while the mother of the bridegroom wore a dress of pink nylon and wore black adeessories. Both wore corsages of red roses. • ' Best man was Don ‘Holloway, friend of the bridegroom. Other attendants were lister Smith, brother of the bridegroom, Vdtighn Mattox, brother of the bride, and Howard Nussbaum, brother-in-law of the bridegroom. The church annex was the scene of the reception which took place immediately following the ceremony. The mint green and white color scheme was used throughout tka entertaining rooms. Serving

When the young couple Jest for a week’s wedding trip of unannounced destination, Mrs. Smith was wearing a light blue linen outfit with white accessories, and the corsage from her bridal boQquet. Following tWlr wedding trip; the couple will reside in Monroe. Mrs. Smith is a graduate of Adams Central high school and is a bookkeeper at Adams County Farm Bureau Co-op in Monroe. Her husband is a graduate of Berne-French high school and is employed at Wells Motor Sales in Bluffton. A band of leaves held her fingertip veil of illusion and an orchid was placed atop her white Bible. The double ring, candlelight ceremony was performed by the Rev. Harry Behning, Saturday evening at 6:30 o'clock. Par: ents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs Herman Werling of route 2, Ossian, and Mr .and Mrs. Robert Curry, also of route 2. Ossian. Presenting the musicale preceding the ceremony were Melvin Reisenbichler. organist, and Joe Mann, vocalist. Miss Wilma Dippel of Craigville, and Miss Jfean Werling, who served her sister as junior bridesmaid. They all w r ore gowns of orchid nylon sheer over taffeta, which featured fitted bodices and wide Bertha collars. Their full gathered ballerina length skirts and collars were trimmed with orchid colored daisies. They wore match-
ing. picture hats. They all carried crescent shape bouquets, which were centered with burgandy gtomelljas filled in with feathered white carnations. \itch., Served '&is cousiijias best man. Guests were seated by Norman Werling of Ossian, Keith Grove of Bluffton, and Billy Curry, brother of the bridegroom. Mrs. Werling wore a navy blue crepe dress and pink and navy accessories for her daughter's wedding, while the bridegroom's mother chose to wear a blue lace dtess with pink accessories* They both had corsages of pink carnations. Approximately 350 guests attended the reception which was held following the ceremony, in the Ossian school basement. Servers included Mrs. Carl Witte of Craigville, Mrs. Walter Berning or Holland, MiSs Ruth Wegihan of Ossildi. Miss Dorothy Keller, of Ossian, arid Miss Nancy Shaffer of Tocsin.
