Alexander Wiley (R-Wis) passed out signed pictures of himself at the Wisconsin State Fair in apparent violation of a no-politics rule on the grounds. The counsel for the Agriculture Board. Fred Griffith, said Wiley’s activities Monday appeared to be a violation of the rules set up by the board against political activity at the, fair. Officials of the State Board of Agriculture and the fair conferred on the case and asked Wiley to discontinue the practice. ■Wiley said he did not know the fair’s rules. The senator is in a vigorous fight for re-election. The cards were signed, "With kindest regards, Alexander Wiley.” B.L.E. Convention Is Scheduled At Peru PERU, Ind. (UP) — About 1.000 persons were expected here Oct. 12-13 for the 36th annual state con vention of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen and Enginemen and its auxiliary. Thirty-four Indiana lodges will be represented at the organization’s 'meeting, its first here .since 1914. Steers Rules Branch Banks Are Eligible INDIANAPOLIS (UP) — Indiana Attorney General Edwin Steers ruled today that branch banks are eligible to receive deposits of public funds. He said banks which have their central headquarters elsewhere can accept funds from the areas where they are located. Steers gave his decision reply to a question by Robert Wickersham, chief examiner of the State Board of Accounts. Wickersham said he had no particular case ih mind but had received several questions on the subject around the state.

Harriet Rauch Is Wed Recently To Kenneth Schwaller • The St. Mary’s Catholic church was the scene of the recent wedding ot Miss Harriet Rauch and Kenneth E. Schwaller with the Very Rev. Msgr. J. J. Seimetz officiating for the double-ring cere mony. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Alfred H. Rauch of route one, Decatur, and Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Schwaller of route one. Monroe. Bouquets of gladioli adorned the church altar. The musicale was presented by the men’s choir. A gown of embroidered nylon tulle over taffeta was worn by the bride. The Empire bodice was fashioned with a Sabrina neckneckline and short sleeves and the bouffant floor-length skirt was scalloped at the hemline. Her finger-tip veil was held in place by a cap effect of lace trimmed

Couple Files Suit To Reunite Family Seeks SIOO,OOO In Welfare Dept Suit TERRE HAUTE (UP) — A SIOO,000 damage suit was on file in Vigo Superior Court today against county welfare and juvenile court officials by a couple who charged their six children were taken from them on .false charges they failed to keep a proper home. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Letner of .Terre Haute filed the suit. They accused the Vigo County Welfare Department and juvenile court agents of taking their young children. The Letners said charges of child neglect were filed against them but later dismissed without going to trial. The said the charges w-ere filed “maliciously” in an effort to “intimidate” the couple into giving their consent to making the children permanent wards of welfare authorities. They love their children, the Leiners said in their suit. Charges they failed to provide the youngsters with proper and sufficient food and a clean and proper home and unfounded, they added. Parents Os Scouts Will Convene Tonight The meeting of parents and troop leaders of the Lion’s troop at ths Methodist church recreation room is scheduled for tonight at 7:30 p.m. Th£ meeting had previously been set sos the scout cabin and was changed due to a conflict according to Steve Everhart.

Wilbur Schwaller served as best map and ushers were John B. Rauch and Maurice Miller. Hessen Cassel hall was the scene of the reception at which 200 guests attended. The women from the parish served the guests. Th bride attended Monmouth high school and is employed at Standard Grocery in the office. Her husband is engaged in farming. The child was a victim of a serious attack of polio. It is reporffid that she was taken out of isolation: 1 Robert Macklin of this city is recovering from a heart attack suffered three weeks ago. He will probably be confined to his home for several weeks yet. Princess Observes 26th Anniversary Royal Family To Join Observance LONDON (UP) —Princess Margaret, spinster sister of Queen Elizabeth, turned 26 todajr with no new royal romances on the horizon or even remotely rumored.
