(UP) — A 20 year -old minister’s daughter from lowa competes tonight as the newly-crowned Mies USA in semifinals of the Miss Universe beauty pageant. Carol Morris, statuesque Miss lowa, wna selected as Miss USA Wednesday night from among 16 domestic finalist#. She will vie with 29 foreign beauties during the next two days for the coveted title of most beautiful girl in the world. Tornadoes Spotted ; In Midwest States Hail Shreds Crops In Three States By UNITED PRESS Hall whitened patches of the midwest Wednesday night as thunderstorms dumped rain over scattered sections. Tornadoes were reported in Ove states, but apparently caused no damage. The twisters were spotted in’ North Dakota, lowa, Minnesota, Alabama and Florida. Sen. McNamara Charges Draw Fire Os G.O.P. Challenge Charges Truth About Ike's Health Covered Up WASHINGTON (UP) — Republicans arc challenging Sen. Pat McNamara’s charge that the White House has covered up the truth about President Eisenhower’s health. The Michigan Democrat Wednesday accused White House press secretary James C.
