Lockjaw Is Fatal To Portland Woman INDIANAPOLIS (UP) — Mrs. Elorise Strait, 31, Portland, Ind., died Monday of locjaw as a result of a power' lawnpower accident last week. She was using the mower when a stone flipped hard against a finger. After an infection developed, she was taken to Robert Long hospital here where she died. For a welcome variation, the A&P Service for Homemakers suggests this recipe for Lobster Pie. Makes 4 servings. Melt % cup butter or margarine, add H cup sherry and boil 1 minute. Remove from heat and add 2 cups cut-up cooked lobster meat Melt *l/3 cup butter or margarine In top of double holler' over simmering water. Stir in 2 tablespoons flour and % teaspoon salt Gradually stir in 1% cups* light cream and the sherry mixture drained from the lobster. Cook, stirring constantly, until smooth and thickened. Beat 4 egg yolks well. Gradually stir in % cup hot sauce. Add to rest of sauce, mixing well, cook over simmering water 1 minutes, stirring constantly. Add lobster and turn into 4 Individual baking dishes. Sprinkle with mixture of % cup cracker meal, 1 teaspoon paprika, 3 tablespoons crushed potato chips, 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese and % cup melted butter or margarine. Bake In slow oven (300 degrees) for 15 minutes or until well heated. For dessert try this recipe for Layered Poundcake; Mix. 4 ounces cream cheese, % cup confectioners* sugar and 1 tablespoon cream or milk until smooth. Trim off crust and spread side of a small bought poundcake with some of the mix ture. Cut off, spread slice %-incb thick and put down, spread aide up. Continue spreading and slicing until cake and mixture are used, piling up the spread slices sandwich fashion. Cut in 4 pieces; spread with red jam. Garnish with bought whipped topping. Votes Extension Os Conservation Program WASHINGTON (UP)-41>e hous, Monday unanimously passed and sent to the White House a bill to extend for another two years the agriculture conservation program under which farmers receive payments for conservation practices. Logansport Man Killed Monday By Lightning LOGANSPORT, Ind. (UP)—John Kaley, 32, Logansport, was killed by lightning late Monday on a city street, probably because he had a metal plate in his skull. Authorities said the lightning bolt apparently was attracted by the plate. The plate was the result of gn army accident suffered in Germany In 1940. The lightning struck a large tree near Kaley and then was attracted by the plate.
