MISS VELMA STRAHM IS BRIDE OF JAMES WEAVER The wedding of Mias Velma Strahm and James Weaver was solemnized Saturday evening. July 7. In the St. lake's Evangelical and Reformed church, with the Rev. Mihisterman officiating for the double ring ceremony. Mr, and Mrs. Sylvan Strahm, of route one, Monroe, are the parents of the bride, and parents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs: lord Weaver, also of Monroe. Miss Strahm chose a white nylon street length dress for her wedding, with which she wore white accesscries and a corsage of red roses. Matron of honor for the occasion was Mrs. Mien Strahm. .-istei ic Jaw of the bride. She wore a white dacron dress with white accessories. and completed her ensemble with a corsage of red roses. '* Serving as best man was Glen Strahm, brother of the bride. A reception was held in the church basement immediately fol--1 owing the ceremony. Servers im eluded Jean Weaver, sister of the groom. Carol Wall. Myrna -Weaver, Mrs. Leßoy Nussbaum and Carrol Mcßride. Assisting -were M-rs. Clark Funk. Mrs. Elmer Beer, Mrs.;Alton Corson, and Mrs. William Bertsch. Mrs. Weaver is a graduate of Admas Central school and is enx ployed in the office of the General Electric Co. Marlene Johnson Wed Recently To Franklin Bittner
Marlene Kay Johnson became the bride of Franklin D. Bittner in a double ring ceremony performed at 7 o’clock Sunday evening, June '3O. Officiating for the rites, in the St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran church in Preble was the Rev. O. C. Busse. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert K.-Johnson of route 3, -Decatur, and parents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Alton C.- Bittner of route 2. Decatur. The church was-impressively decorated with altar bouquets of white lilies, floor vases of white gladioli, majestic daisies in various colors, palms, and candelabra. Candles lighted the white-carpeted aisle jßld the- pews were marked with white.satin bows. A musicale was presented by F. C. Nussbaum. approaching from the opposite direction, was driving to the left of the center of Urov.WTFar’swung into the path of the Nussbaum vehicle. Best man for the occasion was Ronald Bittner, the bridegroom's brother, while ushers were his cousin, Larry Bittner, and Doh Gerke. For her daughter's wedding, Mrs. Johnson chose a black and white polka dotted dress with which she wore w;hite accessories and a red rose corsage. Mrs' Bittner wore a beige linen dress with white accessories and a red rose corsage. A reception immediately followed at the Decatur Youth and Community Center with approximately 200 guests in attendance. The serving table was covered with a white linen table cloth and centereiFwith a four tier wedding cake. On either side of the cake were pink candles and arrangements of summer flowers. Miss Donna Owens and Miss Sondra Brown took care of the gifts and registration, and servers.included the Misses Joyce Welter, Ruth Bulmahn, Carla Snyder, Beverly Stevens and Donna Fast. Mrs. Edgar Ewell of Preble underwent major surgery at the Parkview memorial hospital in Fort Wayne Monday morning. Miss Judy Kay Keller, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Jessup, is convelescing at the Park view memorial hospital in Fort Wayne after undergoing surgery there, last Saturday. Her hoom number is 224. '■ Gold Wrist Watch Is Presented To Pastor A group of 54- children and adults of the Heidelberg class of the Zion Evangelical and Reformed church held their annual family outing at the Feller cottage on Lake, James, Sunday afternoon. Swimming, boating, fellowship and a pot-luck supper were enjoyed by the group. During the afternoon, the president of the class, Joe Hazelwood, called the group together and to the surprise of the pastor and teacher of the class, the Rev. William C. Feller, presented him with a gold wrist watch and a scroll in recognition of his 25 years of service in the Christian ministry and in appreciation at. hls U years as pastor of the scroll was signed by the 74 members of the class.

Record Attendance At Moose Picnic The annual picnic of the, Moose lodge was held Sunday at 1 Sunset park, with 1,237 in attendance, a record crowd for the event.
