Klenk's Loses To Rockford In League Contest Klenk’s of Decatur was knocked out of the Western Buckeye league championship Thursday night, losing to ißockford, 8-5, at Worthman field. Klenk’s held a half-game lead in the loop prior to last night's defeat. The Decatur nine will have an opportunity to go back on top Sunday afternoon, when they play a return match with Rockford on the Rockford diamond at 2 o’clock. Thursday's tilt was a see-saw affair. Klenk’s held a 3-0 lead after two innings but Rockford scored single runs in the third and fifth and five in the fourth for a 5-8 lead. Klenk’s tied in the sixth with two runs on four bases on balls and Helm’s safety. A walk, two hits and a sacrifice gave Rockford two runs in the eighth and the final run scored in the ninth on a walk, stolen base and a single. Rockford AB R H E. The 33-year-old Minner, who suf sered the injury on the team's recent road trip, has a 2-5 record this year.
White Sox Win Little League Game Thursday The White Sox scored in every inning to whip the Tigers, 17-7, tn a Little League game played Thursday evening at the Homestead diamond. The Tigers also scored in each of the first four innings to make the game close at that stage, 9-7, but the White Sox counted three in the VP the contest. A first-inning twofifth and five in the sixth to wrap run homer by Raudebush featured the game. The usual Friday night double header at Worthman field will pit the Red Sox against the Senators in the opener, followed by the Tigers and Yankees. Three Little League games and one Pony League game will be played at Worthman Saturday to catch up on rained-out contests. The Yankees and Red Sox will play at 1 p.m., the Indians and Tigers at 2:30. Saturday evening, the White Sox meet the Senators at 6:15 p.m., followed by the Cardinals and Braves in a Pony League encounter.
