MRS. RICHARD BAUMAN FETED WITH SHOWER i. A miscellaneous shower was glv en for Mrs. Richard Bauman recently at the home of Mrs. Fred Bauman. Hostesses for the affair were Miss z Norma Jean Bauman and Mrs. Richard Cook. Upon her arrival, the honored guest was presented with a red rose bud corsage. The couple will observe open house from 2 until 5 o’clock at their country home. Mr, and Mrs. Buuck were married July 4, 1908. They have six children and 14 grandchildren. WEIGHT WATCHERS CLUB „ ENJOY DINNER RECENTLY The Decatur Weight Watchers dub met at 1127 Nuthnan avenue recently Where the members weighed iif*knd paid the due*. Following a short business meeting, the group motored to the" country home of Mrs. Ivan Roth, where a 400 calorie dinner was served. The serving table was laid with linen .centered with, a bouquet of roses with lighted candles on either side. Following the dinner the conimittee explained the preparation of the food- and the calorie content. During the social htfur, recipes and other diet hints were exchanged among the group.

Latin American Countries Are Hit By Unrest Political Unrest Reported Boiling In Six Countries MEXICO CITY (UP) — Political unrest boiled today in half a dozen Latin American countries hit by paralyzing strikes, riots, threatened assassinations and hints of open invasion. In Peru, the government suspended for 30 days certain constitutional guarantees in an attempt "to end rioting in which more than 60 persons have been injured. A general strike by 100,000 workers virtually halted all business life.. Riots were reported Tuesday in Lima and the port city of Calloa and new- unrest was feared. The government ordered armed forces and troops to enforce security measures. j Guatemala- was reported tense with the government fearful of armed incursions by pro-Commu-nist Guatemalan exiles in Mexico and El Salvador. A staje of siege was imposed on the country Tuesday following a clash between student rioters and police. l Three students and a policeman were killed in the rioting in Guatemala City which authorities blamed on a “Communist plot’’ masterminded from abroad. More than 200 persons were reported arrested and 17 sent into exile in Honduras. Most of those taken into custody were said to have been prominent political leaders during the pro-Communist regime of exPresident Jacobo Arbenz.
