HOME DEMONSTRATION CLUB HOLDS MEETING RECENTLY The Decatur home demonstration club recently met at the home of Mrs. Gerald Durkin. The lesson on “Finished on Other Fabrics.” was presented by Mrs. O. K. Baker and the bong of the month was presented by Mrs. Henry Adler. Mrs. (Grover Levy. Mrs. O. K. Baker, and Mrs. Paul Daniels gave a report on the Purdue conference. Mrs. Bert Haley reported on the chorus and final plans were made for the 4-H fair. Games were played and ■ prizes were won by the Mesdames Earl Butler, Paul Daniels, and Robert barard. The hostess was assisted by Mrs. George Sprague, Mrs. Frank Clingenpeel, and Mrs. G. Remy Bierly. E)aine Blakey Is Bride Sunday Os Carl F. Thieme White gladioli, white chrysanthemums. and candelabra mounted with palms, adorned the altar of the Immanuel Lutheran church for the wedding of Miss Elaine Ruth Blakey and Carl F. Thieme. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Hugo C. Blakey of route five, Decatur, and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Thieme of route three, Decatur. The wedding took place Sunday evening at 6:30 o’clock, with the Rev. W. C. Vetter reading the nuptial vows for the double-ring ceremony. White satin bows and foliage marked the church pews. A musicale was presented preceding the ceremony by Bernard Schultz, organist, and Carl Reinking, vocalist. Selections sung included "Wedding Prayer,” “The Lord's Prayer,” and “Take Thou Their Hands and Lead Them.” The bride selected a floor-length 'gown* of -chantilly type lace and nylon tulle over satin. A delicately scalloped scoop neckline and short sleeves highlighted the long torso lace bodice. Lace appliques beautified the misty nylon tulle skirt which fell from the modified waistline. She wore matching mitts and a lace plateau hat adorned with seed pearls caught her fingertip veil of imported silk illusion. She carried a white Bible topped with an orchid. Miss Blakey’s honor attendant. Mrs. Marvin Meyer, sister of the bridegroom, wore, a gown of nylon tulle and chantilly lace over was topped with a lace jacket havtaffeta. in coral. The lace bodice ing a mandarin collar and elbowlength sleeves. The bouffant floor length skirt was a series of circular flounces. A matching band of horse hair braid complemented her gown. Bridesmaids were Miss Janice Doctor, cousin of the bride, anil Janet Busiek. They wore similar ensembles in aqua. Following luncheon nt the Conrad-Hilton hotel, the group visited several public buildings. The Emblem Club will hold a picnic Thursday evening at 6:30 o'clock at the Elk’s home. Each 1 member is asked to bring a cover~ed~dleh and her own" tabTe’ service.’ The club will furnish the meat, offee, rolls, and butter. The hus--1 bands are invited to the party and any lady Elk who is interested in joining the club is invited,to the picnic. A short business meeting will follow the picnic. The Come Join Us class of the Mt. Zion IT.- B. church of Bobo will hold a class party Thursday evening at 7 'o’block at HannaNuttman park. Mrs. Oscar Miller will be hostess to the SC. Ambrose study club Thursday evening at 7:36 o’clock. A picnic dinner will be held by the Profit and Pleasure home demonstration club Sunday at 12 noon, at the Berne park. The Woman's association of the Presbyterian church will meet at the church Wednesday evening at 8 o'clock. She wore a head piece -of yellow roses and carried a basket of tinted carnations. The other attendants carried bouquets of yellow roses. Serving the bridegroom as best man was his brother, Wilbert Thieme. Guests were seated by Robert Harvey and Marlin Blakey, brother of the bride. David Conrad, nephew of the bridegroom, was ringbearer. The bride’s mother selected a blue lace dress with white accessories for the occasion. While the bridegroom’s mother was attired in a dusty rose lace dress with white accessories. Both wvire pink rose corsages. Sunset-' Park was the scene of the reception which was held folloyving the ceremony, with 400 guests in attendance. The serving table was covered with a lace table cloth and a four-tiered square wed-, ding, cake adorned ths center of tfee table. Those serving included Dorothy Selking. Evelyn Getting, Janice Busiek, Irene Thieme. Judith Baxter. Mrs. Herbert Wiegmann, Mrs. Leona Bienz, Mrs. Martin Bulmahn. and Miss Ruth Wiegmann. Gifts were unwrapped byMrs. Don Gallmeyer, Mrs. Russell Hirschy, and Miss Delores Gallmeyer. For a honeymoon of unannounced destination, the bride chose a dress of printed perwinkle cotton with a tucked lace bodice, topped with a white- rayon linen jacket and white accessories. She wore the orchid from her bridal bouquet. The bride is a graduate of Monmouth high school and is employed in the office of the Central Soya Company in Decatur. Her husband was graduated from Monmouth high school and is employed at the Decatur post office. The couple will reside at 614 Adams street in this city.

after a two weeks' visit with Mrs. Charles J. Voglewede and other relatives and friends. Mrs. Roy Runyon has been returned to her home from Parkview memorial hospital in Fort Wayne after undergoing major surgery last Tuesday. She is reported to be much improved.
