Indiana Stars Meet Kentucky Saturday Night INDIANAPOLIS (VP) — The cream of Indiana's and Kentucky’s high school basketball seniors collide in the annual mid-summer extravagagaa Saturday and observers outcome of the home-and-home game , will rest on the broad shoulders of the, No. 1 players of each team. Brilliant Oscar Robertson, who ytp oj sgannv snodßUßipui pej state crown the last two seasons, will lead the Hoosiers. Indiana has dropped only two all-star games to the boys from the bluegrass since the series started in 193.9. His worthy opponent is “king” Kelly Coleman, a 6-3 shooter who carries a fantastic average of 46.8 points in 41 games. Robertson needs no. hitrodbction to Hoosier hardwood followers. He holds every major capital city scoring record and has been tabbed by all-star coach Angus Nicoson as a “oqce in a lifetime" player. Nicoson ade no secret of the fact he has assigned Robertson to guard Coleman—which in itself should be worth the price of admission to Butler Fieldhouse. The Hoosiers, as usual, are eager to go. They whipped Kentucky for the 12th straight time here last year. 94-86, then dropped an 86-82 overtime struggle in the return match at Lousville. The two teams also will go at it again Monday night at Louisville. Nicoson said the boys shine in team play but are somewhat Weaker on the backboards than last year's, team. •'They’ve adapted themselvevery quickly to team play." he said. He also pointed out they reported In amazingly good condition for the few days practice. "We have better team play and the defense also is a bit better. The shooting is about the same as last year.” Nicoson said. He also praised big Frank Radovich of Hammond, Joe Simpson of Southport and Bob Hickman of Terre Haute Gerstmeyer. Nicoson Is comndtteed to start the game with Robertson, Hickman, Radovich, Dennis Teepe of Elkhart and Ron Fisher of Lafayette. AH with the exception of RadovipJj played in the state finals fait March. Teepe and Laverne Altemeyer cf Scottsburg were questionable, however. Teep. a polished floor worker, had an ankle Infection.
