Miss Lorraine Sowards, youngest sister of the bride, attended as flower girl. Robert Miller, brother of the bridegroom, was best man. and guests were seated by Kay B. Miller, brother of the bridegroom. Paul Sowards, brother of the bride, and David Ripley. Approximately 70 guests attended the reception which was held in the church parlors. MISS MARJORIELU HILL 18 FETED AT SHOWER Miss Marjorlelu Hill, bride-elect of June 24,,was recently feted with a kitchen shower at the home of Mrs. Ted G. Hill of Oak Ridge Place. Miss Hill and Everett Hutker, Jr., will exchange vows at 3 p.m. in the Trinity Evangelical and United Brethren church, with the Rev. John E. Chambers officiating. He will be assisted by the Rev. B. G. Thomas. The individual tables at the shower were decorated with pin)? table covers and each was centered with bud vases of pink roses Baskets of mock orange surrounded the gift table, which was complemented with a pink umbrella and a bouquet of roses. Several games and contests were enjoyed and the prizes were then in turn presented to the brideelect. Those in attendance were the ■Mesdames Richard Hakes, Jerry Gehrig, Byford Smith, Jethro Sprunger, Hutker, Sr., William Hutker and daughter Cathy. Glen Hill. Douglas Thompson and Mrs. Rayhiond Quanee and Mrs. J. C. Tutch, both of Kort Wayne. Also attending were Miss Helen Mowery, Miss Alice Roth. Miss Dianne Lihn and Miss Donna Timmons. Unable to attend were Miss Pauline Lobsiger, Saralyn Su Braden. Janet Hdtrick and,Ann Amstutz of Harlan, and Mrs.' Max Tutch and Mrs. Manford Melchi and daughter Melody of Fort Wayne. SOCIETY HOLOS MEETING AND HONORS BRIDE-ELECT The Baptist Missionary society met recently at the home of Mrs. C. E- Bell, Mrs. Bryce Daniels, president, called the meeting to order, after which Mrs. H. J. Hakes gave devotions and led in prayer. The secretary's report was read and roll call was answered by 32 members and. three guests present. After the treasurer’s report was read by Mrs, Edward Lobsiger, it was decided to cancel noth the July and August meetings of the society, with the next meeting to be held at the church September 13. The program was in charge of Mrs. Homer Reace, who was assisted by Miss Alicia Levy and Miss Lois Metzger. They gave an interesting presentation of ‘Treasure to be Desired,” which told the story of work at a Baptist Christian center. Mrs. Weldon Soldner then dismissed this portion of the evening with prayer. During the social part of the fellowship, Miss Lois Metzger, bride-elect, was honored. After she was presented with a corsage, clever games and contests were enjoyed by the group. Mrs. Stuart Brightwell, accompanied by Mrs. Bell at the organ, presented several songs appropriate for the occasion. A book of memories containing advice as well as good wishes for the bride-elect, along with the signatures of those present, was presented to Miss Metzger at the close of the evening. MISS ELAINE BLAKEY HONORED WITH SHOWER Miss Elaine Blakey was recently honored with a miscellaneous shower given by Deloris Hlrschey, Janice and Janet Busick at the latters’ home. Miss Blakey will become the bride -of Carl Thieme, June 24. Upon her arrival, Miss Blakey received a corsage of pink roses. The room was decorated with streamers of aqua, pink and White ■ crepe paper. The tables wfere decorated with a miniature bridal party, roses, and candles. The gift table was centered with a large bridal doll. Games were played and prizes were won by the Misses Audrey Grandstaff and Barbara Lewton, who in turn presented them to the honored guest. She then opened her many gifts. Lunch was served to the Mesdames Betty Ripley, Jane Landis, Virginia Gallmeyer, Marcille Bohnke, and the Misses Evelyn Belneke, La ver a Witte, Alice Kukelhan. The Pleasant Mills Methodist chufch wilt hold their annual father and son banquet Friday at 6:30 o’clock tn the church basement. The banquet will be served by the mothers and daughters of the church. The program was closed with benediction by the pastor. The Emmaus guild will' hold family night Wednesday evening at 7 o’clock in the Zion Lutheran parish hail. ..................... Sonja Sue Schug Recent Bride Os Terrance Craig Miss Sonja Sue Schug recently became the bride of Terrance R. Craig, with the Rev. W. C. Polson of Nprth Madison reading.the nuptial vows for the double-ring ceremony which took place in the Baptist church at Liberty Center. Hiram Wittwer is the bride's foster father and parents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Craig of Liberty Center. A niusicale was presented by Mrs. Elmer Ehrsam. organist, and Mrs. Howard Luginhill, vocalist. The bride wore a gown of chantilly lace and nylon tulle over satin. The molded bodice with its square neckline and long tapering sleeves glittered with tiny iridescent sequins and pearls. The filllowing skirt with its cascading tiers of lace ruffles forming the sides and back swept to a circular chapel train. Her fingertip veil of imported illusion was caught to a jeweled Swedish crown. Her arm bouquet was of blue and. white daisies with white satin ribbon. An overskirt of the scalloped embroidery swept to a bustle back over a ballerina skirt of plain organdy. Matching plateau hats of horsehair braid completed their ensembles. David Jacobs of Fort Wayne served as best man and ushers were Danny Polson, Richard Brandt. and, James Mouncey. Leonard Schug, small brother of the bride, pulled the white carpet. A reception was held in the church basement with approximately 200 guests present. The Misses Carol Egley and Arleen Freels of Decatur and Costa Hike and Nancy Shoaf of Monroe served the guests. Miss Lorrene Schug, sister of the bride, and Larry Wittwer had charge of the gifts, Miss Shirley Brandt had charge of the bridal book, and Dale Brandt, Jr., registered the guests. The new Mrs. Craig is a grad"uate of Adams Central high''school. Her husband was graduated from Liberty Cented high school and will be a senior at Ball State Teachers College In Muncie this fall. - The couple will live with the bridegroom's parents this summer.
