In order to participate in th® acreage reserve, farmers must comply with acreage allotments or corn base acreage under price support and marketing quota provision*. Other provisions of eligibility to participate in this program are: by underplanted allotment of corn base and the farmer certified he underplanted dud to adverse weather conditions or in anticipation of participating in soil bank; or the 1956 corn acreage is less than the allotment or basic acreage because of destruction by natural causes; or be plows or otherwise incorporates into the soil, or clips, mows or cuts, and acreage I within the allot or com base after I May 27, the final disposition date Ito be announced later. The acreage designated for the acreage reserve must be representative of the land used for the crop, result in the harvesting of an acreage of the basic crop less than the farm allotment or corn base acreage, and not be grazed, cut for hay, or crapped for the entire 1956 calendar year. Noxious weeds must also be controlled on the "reserved” acreage. The maximum acreage of corn placed In the acreage reserve Is the larger of half the corn base acreage or 50 acres. The minimum is -the larger of 10 percent of the base acreage or 6 acres. The payment which a farmer may earn far participating in the acreage reserve will be determined by multiplying a base unit rate by a yield factor. The national average rate ter corn in 90 cents per bushel Brown stated that the agreement forms, which must be signed by the participating farmer, have not been received in the county office.
