MISS AROOLA PARRIAH IS WID TO JOHN BURKHART Bt. Paul MlMlonary cbarch was the acene of the double-ring wedding ceremony which united in marriage Miss Ardola M. Parrish and John W. Burkhart The Rev. William Myerg officiated for the ceremony. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrp. Kenneth Parrish •of route four. Decatur, and Mr. and Mrs. Charles F. Burkhart of route six, Decatur. The bride wae attired in a white ballerina-length gown and abe carried an orchid on a whit* Bible. Her veil was caught to a pearl studded crown. Attending the bride aa maid-of-honor wae Patsy Burkhart, sister of the bridegroom. Arlene Parriah sister of the bride, attended as Junior bridesmaid, and Melvin Burkhart, brother of the bridegroom, was ring bearer. Stanley Deford attended the bridegroom aa boot man and guests were seated by Gerald Stewart and Arnold Martin. Approximately 150 guests attended the reception, which was held in the Berne auditorium. Servers included Connie Strickler. Strickler, Betty Walters, Kay Ann Witte, Nancy Parriah, Blaine Stultz, and Anita Schwerte. The bride is a graduate of Adams Central high echoed and fa employed at Stucky’s in -Monroe. Her busband was graduated frpm Pleasant Mills high school and fa presently serving ta the U. S. army, stationed at Fort Hood Tex. Mrs. Burkhart Sa presently living at home but she will join her husband In several weeks.

MRS. VINCENT WURM IS HOST EM TO MtCTING The Merry Matrons borne demonstration club met recently at the home of Mrs. Vincent Wurm. The meeting was opened by Mrs. Wilbert Thieme, who led the group tn repeating the club ereod. The history of the song of the month was given by Mrs. Dblmer Thieme. Devotions were given by Mrs. Louis Krueckeberg. Program planning was descussed by the group with Mrs. Wilbert .Thieme tn charge. The health and safety lesson. "Dental Health,” was presented by Mrs. Otto Boeeger. The door prise was won by Mrs. Novie Thieme. The meeting was closed with singing the club prayer. PGI IOTA XI SORORITY ENJOY SOCIAL MEETING A style show was featured at the social meeting ot the Psi lota XI sorority Wednesday evening at the Youth and Community Center.. Members of Mrs. Jane Reed’s sewing class and members ot Mrs. Phyllis Houk's sewing claw modeled the work they bad done the past six weeks in the seiring classes, which were held at the Youth and Community Center. Those who took part in the modeling included Mrs. Delmer VanHorn, Mrs. George Alton and daughter Debby. Mrs. Charles Truesdell and daughter. Mrs. Phyllis Houk and son Joel, Mrs. Ruth Gehrig. Mrs. Rolland Gil Horn and daughter Barbara, Mrs. Pat Steury and daughter, Kevin Moore, Dennis and Theresa Girod, Miss Jane Drew. Mrs. Kathryn Hammond, t Mrs. Marjorie Baker, Miss Karen Striker, and Miss Marlene Laurent Mrs. Reed and Mrs. Houk narrated for the show. . Following the style show, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Clouser and Mrs. Theodore Hirsehy, all ot Berne, demonstrated various stitches and attachments for sewing machines. They displayed many articles they had made, using the various stitches and designs. After the program, delicious refreshment* were served from a table that was centered with a beautiful arrangement of spring flowers- Mrs. Sylvester Everhart and Mrs. Larry Anspaugh won the door prizes. The committee in charge included Mrs. Jane Reed. Mrs. Norma Moore, Mrs. Clarice Hill, Mrs. Nola Isch, Mrs. Joan Borne. ‘Mrs. Marjorie Martin, Miss Ruth Welgman, and Mrs. Barbara Osterman. At the close of the evening a short business meeting was conducted by the president, Mrs. Helen Rydell. « METHODIST EVENING CIRCLE HOLDS MEETING RECENTLY Evening circle twe of the Methodist W.S.C.S. met Thursday in the church and the lesson on “American Indian" was presented by Mrs. Mabel Marshall. Miss Janet Brown gave an interesting talk on the different tribes of Indians in the west. Mrsi Francis HoweH, chairman, conducted the business session and election of officers was held. New officers inelude Mrs. Howell, chairman; Mrs. Kathryne Nelson, trea-| surer; and Mrs. Walter Krick, secretary. Refreshments were served by the hostesses, Mrs. Steve Everhart and Mrs. Kathryne Nelson. Little Miss Cheri Jacobs presented several ballet numbers and Mrs. Eugene Morrison gave various readings. Contests were held and the prize went to the best singing group.
