Has Ankle Injured After Accident Robert Hart. T«, of Convoy. 0., route two, sustained an ankle injury after an accident on U» 3. highway 2t4 about two and a half | < Willes east of Decatur at 1 a. hi. today. Hart, a short time before the accident, had struck a dog and was taking the animal to a veterinarian. On his way his outomobile went oft onto the berm. Another car stopped ahead of him so he could not bring the car up on the the read and headed for the ditch instead. _ He ateppeu om irt tne car unhurt after it had come to a atop, but in stepping to the ground twisted his ankle. He fell to the ground and a passing motorist called for an ambulance He is being treated at the Adams county memorial hospital. Damage to tne car was slight. Adams County Men Buy Guernsey Bull PETKRBOROUGH, N. H. — Edi Ison Lehman & Richard J. Moser. Berne, Ind., have just purchased f the registered Guernsey bull, Ab 1 pine Rose V. Flash, according to the American Guernsey cettle club. The new sire was bought from Jerry D. Kline, Fredericksburg. Ohio. This bull i» out of the fine Guernsey cow, Alpine Rose Faithful, that has an official production record of 17.571 pounds of milk and 9M pounds of fat, made on two times daily milking in M 5 days. Grand Alliance Os Powers Suggested Winston Churchill r Speaks In Germany AACHEN. Germany (INS) “ Sir Winston Churchill declared today that peace can best be guaranteed through a “grand alliance of European powers" that includes Russia and is linked with the U S. and Canada. County Clerk's Home Struck By Lightning Lightning struck the residence of county clerk Richard Lewton early this morning doing consider- . able damage to the lighting and telephone system. No fire accompanied the bolt, which knocked out telephone service for the Lewtons. The damage was repaired late this afternoon. New Art Class Is Planned At Center A new class in art is being formed at the Youth and Community ■ Center, and will meet Thursday afternoons from 2:30 to 5:30 o’clock, with Harry Brown as the teacher. County Rural Youth On Radio Saturday The Adams county rural youth will be featured on .he rural youth radio broadcast Saturday at 12:30 p. tn. over WKJG in Fort Wayne. 'Members participating on this broadcast will be Sally McCullough, Earl Yoder, Gerald Sipe and Gloria Koeueman. A few of the interesting facts about the towns of Monroe, Berne and Geneva wifi be outlined by the rural youth members. Wayne Rothgeb, farm director of WKJG, is in charge of the weekly rural youth radio broadcasts. Suit For Damages Follows Accident A suit for $5'7.513.95 damages was filed Wednesday in Adams circuit court by Jeye C. Sprunger against Clarence G. Getting for injuries sustained in an accident Dec. 6, 1955. The accident occurred on U. S. highway 2*7 north of Decatur where Sprunger, an employe ot the state highway department, was on foot testing highway construction. In bis complaint, Sprunger stated that Getting was the driver of an automobile which struck him and threw him against a state highway department track, causing permanent injury. Sprunger stated that the accident occurred because of the negligence and carelessness of the driver. The amount asked by Sprunger includes $1,854.95 for hospitalisation, SI,OOO for physicians* fees; $434 for special nurses; $74 for ambulance fees; $4,140 for wages and salary lost during hospitalisation and recuperation, and an additional $50,000. Sprunger claims that his injuries will be permanent - ■ 4

Eisenhower To Enter Hospital For Checkup WASHINGTON (INS) —President Elsenhower enters Walter Reed army hospital today for a .“whole, complete" physical checkup even though he has been pronounced “In good health" by his top heart specialist. The Chief Executive told 'his news conference Wednesday he will stay in the hospital until Saturday for his "head to toe” ex- ■ amination. He explained that It would be a general examination without special significance "with respect to my late difficulty” — a reference to his heart attack. Huntington Man is .
