of Wren. 0., was held In tne cafeteria recently with 114 present. Mrs. Pupk has five living children. They are: Harry, Corral, and William Clifton, Helen ShepM* and Olive Johnson. She has 26 grtuidohildten.' 57 great - grand childtfii. and four great-great-grand-child ten. Alll nog the guests present was RdX Lean Clifton, who just recefttly retained home after serving tom years in the V. S. navy. During the afternoon a program consisting of group* dinging, duets, piano soloes, readings, and recordings was enjoyed by the group. Mbvie fijnih of family pictures were also shewn. Mrs. Purk then opened her many lovely gifts. Mrs. Purk is enjoying reasonably good health and is a regular attendant at church, being the oldest member ot the United Brethren in Christ church and a life time reaident of Wren. Otto Sheets, 80. Mrs. Lucy Sheets 80. and Mrs. Addie Sheets Pitser. 78; of Decatur, attended church services with Mrs. Purk Sunday morning. PLEASANT VALLEY CHURCH MOTHER-DAUGHTER BANQUET A mother and daughter supper and program was held Tuesday at the Pleasant Valhey church. There were 75 mothers ai;d daughters present for the affair. The supper Was served in the basement of the church where the tables were nidy decorated with Dowers and candy baskets. Miss Mariam Hoffman was in ’ included group singing, readings, and poems. Mrs. Joel Neuenschwander received a potted plant for being the oldest mother present. The youngest mother was Mrs. Roger Longenberger. Flannel paintings were then enjoyed by the group. The meeting* was plosed with prayer. BRIDAL SHOWER GIVEN FOR M|SS MARLENE JOHNSON A bridal shower was held recently in honbr ot Miss Marlene Johnson, who will become the bride ot Franklin Bittner June 30. Miss Johnson was presented with a corsage upon her arrival, by the hostess, Donna Owens. Games were played and prizes were won by Miss Joyce Welter,
