One of these days spring will be popping out in every direction, and right now U a good time to visit Decatur stores and rejuvenate your spring clothing needs. The district two Indiana library association and Indiana library trustees association will convene May 4 at Kendallville. A. good allday program has been arranged for those attending from the twelve northeastern Indiana counties. Os particular local interest is the fact that Miss Bertha Heller, Decatur librarian is chairman of the district two group and will preside at the meetings. 0 0 With a dty-wide clean up scheduled to start next Tuesday in Decatur, it is an appropriate time to get rid of all of your accumulation of newspapers. Decatur Cub Scouts will conduct a paper drive Saturday and will collect newspapers and magazines. It you have a bunch which you wish to dispose of, you are requested to sail any Cub Scout and the collection will be made Saturday. —-O—« Tomorrow is the deadline for obtaining a ticket for the Democratic county wide dinner and political meeting scheduled for Monday night at the Yeath and Community Center. Every indication points to the fact that the Decatur Board of Works soon will have some Important recommendations to bring before the whole Council concerning the local electric light and power situation. Members of the Works Board have conferred with power engineers and Utility representatives and all agree that the problems here are note so critical that they cannot be worked out to the satisfaction of everyone concerned. 0 0 More than 178,000 telephone calls wsre received during the first year of eperation of the Citizens Telephone Co.-Daily Democrat night and week-end news service. In case yon forget the number, 5-3171, it ban be found in the 1958 telephone directory in three separate iisangs. It is listed both under Decatur Democrat Co.. Citizens Telephone Co. and on page 4 of the new directory under "Service Cans". It’s a good number to remember because you can get the latest news on special events at night and on Saturday and Sunday merely by dialing the special number. Lewis Addition is Decatur's newest residential area. Owned by Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Durkin the area, with a paved street, sidewalks, and other improvements is ready for construction of new homes. The addition is located directly across from Central Soya plant, off of North Second street All lota front the new street and are of ample size for construction of modern homes. The Plan Commission bus given the green light for acceptance of the building area and the matter will go to the next regular meeting of the City Council for final approval.
