Corn Under Price Supports Mounting More Corn Is Added To Supported Total WASHINGTON (INS) — The agriculture department reported that the amount of 1955-crop corn under government price supports continues to climb “at a record pace." On March 15, corn stocks under price support loans or under purchase agreements totaled 341,203,251 Jiushels for 39 reporting states. Forty-one million bushels of corn were put under supports during the Feb. 15-March IB period compared with nearly 27 million durin the same period a year ago and nearly 100 million bushels from Jan. 15 to Feb. 15, 1956. While the 41 million bushels placed under supports during the Feb. 15-March 15 period was only about half the quantity added to the supported crop total during the previous 30 days, this is the fourth consecutive 30-day period during which the quantity of corn put under supports has been substantially larger than a year earlier. In the 1953-54 season, when a final total of 472 million bushels of corn was supported from the 1953 erop, about 383 million bushels had been placed under supports through March 15, 1953. This compares with the 1956 figure of more than 341 million. In addition, farm-stored loans of 38,917,000 bushels of 1953-crop corn
