FARM BUREAU HOLDS RECENT MEETING Forrest Tucker of the Adams county co-op was the guest speaker for the meeting of the Preble township Farm Bureau which was

held recently at the Friedheim school The meeting was opened with group singing and the scripture was read by Mrs. Arthur Bauermeister. ; The president, Irvin Worthman, appointed members on the resolution and legislative committee. A very interesting report of the Indianapolis meeting was given by Mary Worjhman. MISS PAT MIES SPEAKS TO LADIES SHAKESPEARE CLUB Miss Pat Mies, former airline 3teyardess, took the members of the members of the Ladjes Shakespeare club on an imaginary flight io the sunny and enchanting Caribbean Islands and South American at a recent meeting held by the group. While the entire trip would 'ake more than two month to see, the group was able to cover more than 24 different places, 16,000 miles, in less than two hours. With New York as their port of origin their first stop was San Juan, Puerto Rieo. From there they went to Curacao, the Dutch West Indies, then on to CSrocas, Venezuela. Belem, Brazil was the next stop and proved to -be one of the most interesting. They then entered Rio de Janiero, Brazil, the land of carnivals and mosaic sidewalks. The group visited many other interesting places, and while in the Paris of South America, Buenos Aires, they found they could purchase a six course meal consisting of the biggest and best steak in the world, for less than 75 cents in American money. After traveling to French, Dutch and British Gu}ana. Devils -Island, the Dominican Republic abd - many other places, the sugar plantation and tourist sights of Havana and Camaquay, . 3uba, were fitting sights to close the tour of the Caribbean. The meeting of , the Ladies Shakespeare elub was . held at the home of Mrs. Charles Teeple. Miss Bertha Heller, chairman, presided over the business meeting and two new members, IVlrs. Stuart Brightwell and Mrs. Bert Townsend, were welcomed into the club. (' During the social hour, delicious ’homemade candies were served by the hostess. MEETING HELD RECENTLY BY HOME DEMONSTRATION CLUB Mrs. Thurman Drew* was hostess Wednesday to the Union township home demonstration club with Mrs. Archie Smitley as assisting Jicstess. “Disguising Your Figure Faults,” was the lesson presented by Mrs. Hugh Nidlinger. She used several persons to demonstrate different ..types al faces and illustrated several necklines. Mrs. Thearl Stults led the group in repeating the creed, after which “Home on the Range” was sung. Mrs. Stults, president, announced that achievement day will be held April 28 at the Youth, and Community Center. Mrs. Marion Stults celebrated her golden wedding anniversary this moifth and she was honored with a song by the group led by Mrs. Earl—Chase. Mrs. Rolland Giliiom read a poem which she composed in Mrs. Stulls' honor. Mrs. Glen Roughia had charge of a contest.
