Local Photographer Attends Meeting Lawrence R. Anipaugb. Decatur photographer, has ramned from the annual three-day meeting of the Daguerre club of Indiana, one of the oldest honorary professional groups in the country. During the session, the photogtaphers heard lectures and viewed femonetrations by the noted Lewis .Garcia, of Kansas City, who presented the newest technique in posing* and lighting brides. Sari Beyer, famous painter, discussed relationship of pa'nting and the art of photography. One of the meeting’s highlights was presented by Edward Chase, head of the midwestern professional studios of the Eastman Kodak Co. in Chicago, who showed details of Eastman’s newest color printing process hnd. demonstrated the procedure. This was the first presentation of this information. Four of Anspaugh’s portraits were included in a salon exhibit at the Warren hotel in Indianapolis. American Soldier Injured Critically SEOUL (INS) —One American soldier and two Koreans were hurt today in the explosion of a gasoline engine at a U. S. army warehouse in Seoul. Aid Disabled Vels File For Bonuses Service Officer Os DAV Will Assist Gerald Smitley, service officer of chapter 91, Disabled American Veterans in Decatur, will be at the D.AV. hall every Thursday night from 7 o'clock until 8 o’clock to assist disabled veterans file their application for a Korean War bonus. Lees than four months remain tor Indiana disabled veterans to file their applications with the bonus division of the state of Indiana. Smitley said. Applications of living veterans and next of kin must be mailed to the state division not later than midnight June 30, Smitley saidThe local D.A.V. service officer pointed out that he would be glad to assist on any elegible applications, whether or not the applicant is a D.A.V. member. There are three divisions of eligible applicants under the Indiana Korean bonus law. it was stated. The next of kin. disabled veterans and living veterans with a 10 percent or more disability are eligible to file. Applicants must have been a resident of Indiana for a year prior to enlistment in the armed forces and must have served between June 27, 1950 and July 27. 1952. Order of payment of the bonus wili.be as follows: First, next of kin; second, disabled veteran; third, other veteran witfi 16 percent or more disability. Additional information is available by inquiring in person any Thursday night at D.A.V. headquarters in Decatur.
