Stolen Stock Truck Recovered Sunday Truck Stolen Here 1$ Found In Woods The one ton light stock truck stolen from H. P. Schmitt's pack- ; ing house Thursday night -war found Sunday afternoon in a woods off the Winchester road near the Adams-Alien county line. The truck was seen by the daugh- ; ter of Albert Conrad, who recalled the story he had read concerning the break-in at Schmitt's packing ' house. COnrad contacted the local sheriffs office and investigation proved that the truck was the one stolen from Schmitt's. Other items taken from the packing house, a book containing blank payroll checks and a chock protector, have not been recovered, however, and the investigation of the breakin is being continued. Local merchants are still being ‘ warned by the sheriffs department ’ that the thieves will probably at- . tempt to pass some of the Schmitt checks. Sheriff Merle Aftelder ad ! vised that these checks not be cashed by the merchants unless the person presenting the check is known to the merchant as a Schmitt employe.
