PRINCE RAINIER apparently Is getting pleasing answers from fiancee Grace Kelly as he phones her on arrival at New York's Idlewild airport, to arrange wedding details. The prince arrived wearing dark , glasses and under the name ”C. Monte." (International) with the displaying of pamphlets, pictures etc. on thia subject. The students should give careful consideration to their choice* in life, . . while this opportunity is being offered to them. — D. C. H. S. — The juniors had their drawing tor the basket of groceries Jerry Omlor, a first grader, drew the winning ticket. The basket went to Phyllis Jennings. Contents in the basket ranged from flour and sugar to jello and cookies. — D. C. H. S. — Recently, Rita Heimann and Judy Parrish traveled to Indianapolis to visit Marian College. They were taken on a tour through the college and were given explanations on the various college subjects. . — D. C. H. S. — Saturday, Dolores Kintx will journey to Cincinnati where she will take an entrance examination for nurse’s training at the University of Cincinnati. Dolores is planning to enter nursing school in the fall at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati. Several of her friends will accompany Dolores on the trip, Saturday. !— Q. C. H. S. — Thinfs' Were reversed in chemistry flass eartf this week. Each student® was given the chance to act as teacher. They were each given a certain part out of one specific chapter to teach and explain to the other students. — D. C. H. S. — Recently, the home ec 111 students saw several movies. The . first moviWwak on two very interesting topics: table setting and kitchen work in general covered the first part of the film, and the second part was a beautiful view of the, Bellingrath Gardens near Mobile. Ala. The second film showed how to care for your skin as well as other face facts, through the courtesy of Tussy products. Different tiair styles and the proper management of your hair were also shown, through the courtesy of. Toni The girls found these films very interesting. •r— D. C. H. S. — - Since March 2 was Pope Pius the 12th’s birthday, the juniors reserved several class periods in order to find out more about the life of the Holy Father. The juniors gave accounts of his life and made reports on some of the doctrines he established. They also looked up and briefly reported on some of the talks he has made to the nation during the past 17 years he has served and Is still serving as our Holy Father in Rome. — D. C. H. S. — The sophomores have disected frogs in biology. Finding the brains in these frogs proved to be very Interesting. It seems though, that Dave Kable found a certain oddity in his frog; it proved to be a one-eyed frog. — D. C. H. S. — The freshman girls have almost finished their cotton skirts and will soon be making blouses as their next project.

J Household Scrapbook BY ROBERTA LEE 0— . — Cleaning Mantel Clock t The mantel clock can be quite easily cleaned by placing a small piece of cotton saturated with kerosene on the floor of the clock and in a corner, and leaving this with the door closed for three or four days. The dirt that has accumulated on the works is caused to loosen and drop by the fumes of the kerosene. This process can be repeated as often as is necessary. Drink Cartridges BALTIMORE (INS) — Soft drink dispensing machines can now be filled with beverage cartridges similar to the system of those used in bail point pens. The cartridges are used In a new tank filling machine developed by the Crown Cork & Seal Co., in Baltimore. Each tank holds 50 to 100 drinks but four to seven tanks can be hooked up in tandem so that another tank takes over as soon as one is emptied. Seaway Project NEW YORK (INS) — The |9OO million St. Lawrence Seaway project to bring ocean commerce to the Great Lakes involves the re-
moval of 180 million tons of earth and rock from the St. Lawrence River. Steelways, publication of the American Iron and Steel Institute, says the project, when finished, will become the world’s longest inland waterway for deepdraft traffic—as long as the Mediterranean Sea — and penetrating the center of North America for 2.300 miles.
