National FFA Week ; Is Being Observed * Window Display Is Arranged In City i Members of the Adame Central , chapter of the Future Farmers of America are Joining with other F.F.A. chapters throughout the ; state and nation in observing national F.F.A. week thfs week. The chapter has arranged a window display at Meyers’ Dry Cleaners. The window features . awards won by the chapter and an exhibit of F.F.A. equipment and materials. The chapter, which is directed by Martin Watson. Adams Central vocational agriculture instructor, has 42 active members. Each ntomber has two or more farming projects. The chapter has a total of $8,200 invested in, livestock, improvement and supplementary projects. Three boys of the chapter have applied for the state farmer degree. They include Richard Kaehr, Arlen Mitchel and Dee Byerly. To be eligible for this degree the member must have earned SSOO on the projects of ‘ the past year and they must hold the green hand and chapter farmer degrees. Only two percent of the Indiana members can receive this degree. This means that about 170 of the 8,500 active membership can be designated state farmers. The state farmer degrees will be awarded at the state convention April 6 at Purdue university.
