The couple was married February 22. 1899. Mrs. Hilton has been a resident of Adams county all her life and her husband was originally from Convoy. O. They are members of the Bobo United Brethren church. Mr. and Mrs. Hilton have six children. 19 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. The children are: A. N. Hilton of Decatur. Mr and Mrs- John Spahr of Lafayette became the parents of a baby girl born Monday, weighing seven pounds and two ounces. Mrs. Spahr is at the Home hospital In Lafayette. Maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs Noah Steury of this city and aternal grandmother is Mrs. John Spahr of Decatur. At the Adams county memorial hospital: Mr. and Mrs. J.-mes Ketchum of Decatur are the parents of a baby boy born Monday at 11:04 a.m., weighing seven pounds. A baby girt was born to Mr. and Mrs. Aurelio Alcantars of Monroeville Monday at 9:29 p.m.. weighing six pounds and two ounces. Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Souder of Decatur became the parents of a baby boy born today at 12:10 p.m.. weighing six pounds and 13*4 ounces. Two Arrests Mode By Decatur Police Two arrests, one resulting from an accident, were made by the city police. James G. Whitaker, Decatur, vitas arrested for reckless driving after skidding into a lamp post on the corner of Patterson and Winchester streets. Whitaker was headed north on Winchester and just after crossing the Erie tracks, attempted to stop for a truck turning onto Rugg street He slid 60 feet, turned completely around, and crashed into the light post in front of Hite's grocery. Damages to Whitaker's auto were estimated at 2200 and the light post damage totaled SSO Arthur L Runyon. Portland, was arrested for speeding on Thirteenth street. He will appear in court later-

Two Pleasant Mills Quartets Win Honors Superior Ratings At State Finals Two vocal quartets representing the Pleasant Milla high school music department won superior ratings or first place in the state music finals at Butler university in Indianapolis last weekend. The musicians were eligible to compete in the state contest by winning superior ratings in the district contest at Fort Wayne earlier in the month. Gold medals were won by six students who participated in the state event. They included Lynn Mefford, Homer Gause, Larry Merriman, Carl Sipe, Mary Myers and Betty Myers. The students were accompanied to Indianapolis by Mrs. Helen Ehrsam, Mrs. Selple and Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Mefford. Mrs. Ehrsam is the music instructor at the school. Glen Custard is principal. Lenten Service At Reformed Church The second mid-week Lenten service will be held in the Zion Evangelical and Reformed church Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. The filmstrip. “The Last Supper,” will be shown as the basis of the message of the evening. Mrs. Leo Sheets will be the guest soloist and will sing "More Love To Thee" by Doane. The service will last one hour. All members of the church and friends are invited to attend. NIPSCO Pions New Office Building Construction of Northern Indiana Public Service company's new fivefloor general office building annex in downtown Hammond will get underway March 1. Dean H- Mitchell, NIPSCO president, announced today. Last week the company awarded a building contract to the S N. Nielsen company of Chicago, after accepting bids from all interested contractors. The large, modern structure will be erected at the rear of the company’s present main office building located at the corner of Hohman avenue and Russell street. It is scheduled for completion early in 1957. •>_
