be made for the building fund, but several local service and civic organisations and clubs have volun teered contributions for construction of the Little House. ' —-0-— We may have a power and water problem and we may need a sewage disposal plant, but in spite of these worries, we live in one of the best communities in the world. Our people always have joined hands in a common good; a big majority of our people'attend Church on Sunday and records reveal that more tfagh ninety percent pay their bills promptly. There has not been a tax sale on local property tor years. We have hot weather in the summer and cold weather in the winter, but when you add it all up, where is there a better little city than Decatur? a—'-0—- _ The draw has been made for sectional tournaments in .the annual Indiana high school basketball tournament. Games start next Wednesday and the first round t>f tourneys which will come to a climax at Indianapolis in March will be completed Saturday night. It’s always a great time of year for both students and adults. Interest is high in the approaching Adams cbunty sectional to be played at Adams Central gymnas lum. Almost any team in the county could win the meet this year. Monmouth, the defending champs, of course will be the target of every other team. Every game will no dou|>t be a sell-out. The Citlxens Telephone Co. and Daily Democrat will have all the scores at the conclusion of each quarter. . t s 1 O— — 0 - Automobile manufacturers seem to be missing a good sales opportunity. Most of their advertising is focused on the speed pud power of their 1958 models. Little is said about the many safety features on tiew vehicles. Outside of a few speed iganiats. w« believe that people want these safety features much more than the extra 50 or 75 horse power addition too the motors. Older Carr can' still do a hundred miles an hour, so additional speed doesn’t seem to add much for the average motorist, who wants to be sure his new car has every possible help for safe driving.

Hdirdos Will Be Longer, Simpler CHICAGO (INS) — A beauty consultant says that men in 1956 can expect their girls to conform to the classic ideals in hairstyles —longer and simpler.
