Sign-up Period To Close February 29 Farmer Must Sign For Cost-Sharing Farmers are reminded th»t the initial sign-up period for requesting cost-sharing under the 1956 agricultural conservation program ends February 29, according to Oscar T, Brown, chairman of the Adams county ASC committee. To be eligible to receive costsharing a farmer must sign a request in the county office before the practice is started. Application of limestone to legume crops, installation of tile drainage, seeding of legumes for green manure, sod waterways and! terraces are some of the approved practices for 1956. Farmers with conservation problems are urged to contact the 80S technician in order to determine whether there is an approved ACP practice which will meet their requirements. Mr. Brown reminds farmers that it is not necessary to comply with corn and wheat allotments to be eligible for cost-sharing in 1956. He also states that there will be no house to house visits for sign-up and urges interested persons to call at the county office during the regular office hours which are from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
