Two Pleasant Mills Groups Are Winners Music students from Pleasant Mills high school went to Fort Wayne Central high school Saturday. to participate in the annual district, contest. Those receiving superior or division I rating were the boys’ vocal quartet and the mixed vocal quartet- These two groups, by virtue of their superior rating, will go to the state contest at Butler University in Indianapolis, February 18, to compete with other quartets from the entire state. The personnel of the boys quartet is Lynn Mefford, Homer Gause, Larry Merriman, and Carl Sipe. The mixed quartet is composed of Mary Myers, Berry Myers, Lynn Mefford and Larry MerrimanThese students were awarded gold medals. Students winning excellent or diviaion II rating were: ‘Homer Gause, baritone solo; Lynn Mefford, tenor eolo; Duane Seiple, piano solo; and the vocal double quintette, composed of Marilyn Siple, Homer Gause, Lynn Mefford, Carl Sipe and Larry Merriman. These students all won silver medale. Mrs. Helen Eh ream is the music instructor at Pleasant Milla high school.

Roy Kalver, manager oLthe Adams theater, left today for a week's visit at St. Petersburg. Fla. with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. I. A. Kalver; Music Association To Meet Wednesday An important meeting of the officers, board members and committee chairmen and workers of the Adams county Civic Music association is scheduled for Wednesday at 8:30 p- m. at the Decatur Youth and Community Center. The meeting was originally slated for 7:30 p. m but the times was changed for the convenience of those persons who must attend other meetings that night. Purpose so the meeting Is to discuss plans tor the organization of the membership campaign which will be conducted in the spring.
