SOCIETY EMMAUS GUILD HGLDS RECENT MEETING ' The Emmaus guild of the""!fclon Lutheran church met recently for their monthly meeting. The meeting was opened with devotions by Mrs. Bill Schnept During the business meeting it was decided to send $25 to the missions oftbe blind. Mrs. Luella Ellsworth gave a talk on some of her varied and interesting trips in the United States- A "famous people” quia was held and prises were won by Mrs. Bill Schnept and Mrs. Lloyd Conrad- Mrs. Robert Krudckeberg displayed many of her water bolor paintings. Twenty-six members and three guests yere present- Hostesses for the meeting were Mrs. Jack Schnept and Mrs. Fred Kunkel. The next meeting willb e held Tuesday, February 14- “ _ _— The Xi Alphalota exemplar chapter of Beta Sigma Phi will hold a business and cultural meeting Wednesday evening at 8 o’clock at the Elks home. SUNDAY, JANUARY 29, Mr. and Mrs. John Chilcote of route six, Decatur, will observe their 55th wedding anniversary. To mark the occasion they will have a buffet supper for their children and families, at their country home. Mr. and Mrs. Chilcote were married January 27, 1901, at the home of Mrs. ChilcOte’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Ross in St. Mary’s township? They are both natives of Adams county and have resided on route six for the past 41 years. Mr. Chilcote is a retired farmer and is 78 years of age. His wife is 72. They are the parents of seven children: Mrs. Joseph Mcßride, Mrs. Robert Hill, Mrs. Herman Hammond and Roy Chilcote, all of this city; and Floyd and Delvia of Fort Wayne. One daughter, Nellie, is decease!!. They have 19 grandchildren and two great-grand-children.— Photo by Anspaugh.
