Chairman Walter Thieme presided as the crops project work of 1955 was reviewed. Demonstrations outlined for 1966 were an oats variety and fertilization plot on the Edgar Thieme farm in Unton township; corn variety and soybean variety plots and a soil strati on in cooperation with the conservation sod waterway demonsoil conservation district The committoe also started planning on an achievement banquet to be held in March and to, supervise 5-acre corn club work. New officers elected for 1956 are: Elmer Franz, chairman; Edgar ’Thieme, vice chairman; Larry Busick, sec-retary-treasurer, and directors, Delmas Bollenbacher and Martin Habegger. Mazelin To Head Dairy Committee Committee Meets Tuesday Afternoon The Adams county extension dairy project committee met Tuesday afternoon at the county extension office. Officers elected by the committee for 1966 are Benj. Mazelin. chairman; Roy Price, vicechairman; Harry Lehman, secre-tary-treasurer; directors, Franklin Steury and Edison Lehman; and extension committee representative, Henry Aschlenian. The Bangs disease eradication program was discussed with the following resolution coming from the group. “The Adams county dairy extension project committee in their annual meeting at Decatur, Ind., January 10, 1956, resolve to use its influence and individually and collectively to help speed up the Brucellosis testing in our county. “The feeling seems to be that the sooner testing of the wlfsle county is completed, the better it will be for all concerned; as this committee, along with the majority of the dairy producers, are anxious to have the county a Bangs free accredited area." A dairy calf club tour was scheduled for May 29 with Norbert Moeller, Purdue extension dairyman, as discussion leader. The calf club committee will arrange for the tour. A report on calf club activities was given by 'Roy Price, chairman of that group. Dairy herd Improvement association activities were reported on by Franklin Steury, vice-chairman of the association. . It was reported by Leo Seltenright, county agent, that an extension school on roughage handling and dairy production is scheduled for February 16 and a schopl on bulk handling of milk scheduled for February 28. Also a report on the 4-H dairy barn construction was given by Peter B. Lehman.
