Refuses To Reveal Wife's Whereabouts Spirited Wife Out Os State Hospital INDIANAPOLIS (INS)—A soldier who sacrificed a promising army career for the woman he loves today refused to reveal his wife’s whereabouts despite the threat of prison. Cpl. Donald D. Davidson, 20, was returned to Indianapolis from Fort Catopbell, Ky.,* Friday night. He was questioned for information that might lead to the capture of his wife, Betty. Davidson spirited his wife out of Indiana central state hospital where she was taken for mental observation after she slashed her wrists at Indiana women’s prison. The 23-year-old woman was sentenced to 10-25 years last July 15 after she was convicted in Porter county of robbery. The soldier, who had risen to corporal in 18 month's in the army and soon was to become sergeant, helped his wife flee the hospital on Christmas Day. He left a note with the state bpard of correction telling what he had done and claiming he could not bear’the thought of his wife in prison. Officials said Davidson told them he will serve his time .and her time, too, but he didn’t “go this far to have her surrender and be tortured any more.” The young soldier described "tortured" as being confined and discussed everything except his wife’s whereabouts with authorities. Two Teen-Agers Face Auto Theft Charges INDIANAPOLIS (INS) — Two Indianapolis teen-agers face auto i theft charges today after a fast chase, punctuated with gunfire from state police, Friday night. The pursuit ended when the car crashed into a roadside ditch two miles east of Fowler.
